Can't say I've heard any, but at least Pete gets a credit on the sleeve this time. And it's not for Taking Off 'cos Tim gets a credit too as it's a live version from one of the non-Pete shows.

And while 'Taking Off' does sound as if it was recorded from beneath Hanley P. Fender's Ginger Frizz Wig, it's a stonking performance... I wish The Fall wouldn't use AUDs on official releases though. G. Showbiz probably has some nice soundboard recordings of recent material somewhere.

There IS guitar on Victrola Time, can you two not hear it? Have you both listened through headphones yet? It's there playing the main riff a few times and then doing that pretty pattern like on the live versions.

EDIT: Oh yeah, that riff up front with the world's worst fuzz-tone, and the 'weaving' melody near the end with the keyboards. Good ear, BEF.

Not being bothered about vinyl, I just bought the official download and it sounds really good.

It would be better still if it were FLAC or some other lossless files.

I usually balk at live b-sides, but this Tim Taking Off is quite good, actually. Smith in good form, and the knob twiddling works (almost...) seamlessly.

My advice?-

Victrola Time is top shop. Motorik, with Smiths voice in a better shape tran on some of the tracks off of Ersatz GB. Got it from iTunes
