! --------- UNDER CONSTRUCTION --------- !If you have reasonable arguments for/against these statements you'd like me to consider, please PM them to me.Section 1: Vampires and GunsQ. Can my vampire have a gun/guns?A. Technically, yes, they can have guns. However, I like to counter this question with another question: Why would a vampire have guns? They are equipped with many abilities to promote self-preservation, and guns are virtually useless on other vampires.
Q. What do you mean they're useless on other vampires? What if I use silver bullets?
A. Silver doesn't effect any of the vampires on Vital any more than being shot with a regular lead bullet would. Thus, *buzzer sounds*, try again.
Q. What do you mean they're useless on other vampires? What if I use a shotgun/some other high-power weapon at close range on a vital area?
A. First of all, the chances of you getting close enough to another vampire to qualify for "close range" are slim, depending on your stealth abilities and the general abilities of the other vampire. Secondly, you'd better make sure you get every little piece of that vital area and hope that they actually die if that area is blown away, or they'll regenerate and be very, very pissed off at you.
Q. Fine then. I'll just use it to kill mortals. Have a problem with that?
A. Yes, I do actually. Again, it becomes a question of "why"; why would your vampire go to the trouble of pulling a gun on a mortal when they're perfectly equipped to catch and kill them on their own?
---> Argument 1:
---> "The police are certain to look into these murders sometimes, even with the Amman around there is no way with so few in numbers to find every body of a mortal that is killed, this being said a bullet wound will draw a little less attention then say a mortal having it's face torn off or neck bitten open-- depending on whether it was for feeding or just to kill-- agreed? So in theory a gun wound would attract less media attention then the gore that typically goes on."
----> Response:
----> A good argument, but, the vampires who kill by tearing off faces and ripping open necks probably don't care about whether or not they attract media attention, and thus wouldn't bother using a gun to reduce the noticeability of their kills. Q. I'm stubborn and still want to give my vampire a gun. Can s/he walk around with it in plain view?
A. I'd advise against it, since you'd be attracting unnecessary attention to yourself.
Section 2: Vampires and SwordsQ. Can my vampire have a sword/swords?
A. Technically, yes. Yet again I pull the "why" card however. While yes, decapitation by blade is an effective method of killing some vampires, the statement returns that it'd be unlikely you'd be given the chance to employ it against another vampire.
---> Argument 1:
--->"For vampire on vampire combat, it wouldn't be to strange for two vampires, both young, who don't have the ability to just slaughter eachother with their minds to resort to brute force, so a weapon, be it a sword, could be more effective then your hands when trying to decapitate someone."
---> Response:
---> Point taken. ^.^Q. Can my vampire walk around with their sword in plain view?
A. Again, advising against it, for the same reasoning as why I discourage carrying guns in plain view.
Section 3: Mortals and GunsQ. Can my mortal have a gun/guns?
A. If they're willing to go through the legalities to obtain one, yes. If they're not exactly upstanding citizens who would be able to get one outside of the law, then also yes.
Q. What effect do guns have on vampires?
A. It is more likely that you'll get a mortal character killed by shooting a vampire than it is that a vampire will be killed by being shot by a mortal. Yes, it does hurt them to be shot, but they heal almost immediately after, and won't be very pleased with the mortal who shot them. See "Vampires and Guns" for details on silver bullets and close range, high-power weapons.
Q. Can my mortal walk around with their gun in plain view?
A. This is getting redundant. I'll just say it's discouraged, unless they're in a line of work that would justify their need to constantly carry one (ie. police, private investigator, etc.).
Section 4: Mortals and SwordsQ. Can my mortal have a sword/swords?
A. Technically, yes.
Q. Can my mortal walk around with their sword in plain view?
A. No. Your character will more likely than not be stopped by the police, and have it taken away.
End Notes- Don't turn your character into a walking armory.
- Don't carry weapons if you don't need them (vampires especially).
- Don't try to kill a vampire with a gun unless you're a very good shot and have a back-up plan in case you don't kill them.
- Carrying a weapon because it looks cool is not an acceptable argument as to why your character needs it.
