Set was roughly:

Over! Over!/ Wolf Kidult Man/ 50 Year Old Man/ Cowboy George/ I've Been Duped/ Fall Sound/ Sloppy Floor/
Theme from Sparta F.C./ Bury/ Mr. Pharmacist

About 50 minutes, including a very short break (after Fall Sound, i believe). No encores.

I really enjoyed the show: MES looked and sounded laid-back and he definitely wasn't pissed. A bit of the obligatory amp-fiddling, but it dind't affect much the sound. Luckily, because it was very good: Eleni and Peter Greenway were perfectly balanced.
Superb playing from all, but the rhythm section in particular was impressively tight.

About the songs:

I didn't recognize Over! Over! until MES started singing. Mixed feelings about this rendition.
They could have dispensed altoghether with Mr. Pharmacist, which was only perfunctory. Not a cracking finale. sad.gif
All the other songs were fantastic, especially 50 Yr. Old Man.
But, the highlight for me was rather unexpectedly I've Been Duped. Never had much time for this one, in fact i often skip it when i listen to IWS. Heard live, it's devastating. thumbsup.gif

I have some more trivia to share with you, in case you're interested. biggrin.gif

Someone placed a small bottle of water right in the middle of MES's microphone stands. First thing he did when he came onstage was throwing the fucker away. After having done that, "Good evening, we are the Fall". thumbsup.gif

After such a long day, taking the time for your prompt report deserves thanks, which I hereby graunt.

Were you close? What does Eleni look like in person (hah hah)?

Mr. Ph. has been old for a long time. But it's simple enough that I was able to learn it on guitar. It's lot of fun to sing/play, a real campfire song that I strongly recommend.

I've always found that it's much better live - always a highlight in fact.

It has a Steve Jones 'Pistols' guitar feel when played live.

The studio version is more like Aled Jones.

Early live versions remind me of the New York Dolls, in a good way.

50 minutes !?

I've been duped indeed ! Hope no-one went for a ciggie break.

No more Wings and back to the pharmacist - wonder why Mark E. insists on this? I'd rather 'Hip New Priest' as a golden oldie. Anyways...

I am interested as a train spotter across the bloody Atlantic to hear/read how all the upcoming November shows go.

I thought Milan might be a longer set of new songs of the upcoming C.D. but it don't seem to be.

I was under the stage, against the barriers. There wasn't much pressure behind me.
I reckon no more than 20 punters out of 200-300 were there expressly to see Gruppe. You could spot them easily amongst the goth rabble that made up 90-95% of the audience. biggrin.gif

Eleni was absolutely gorgeous but in a very discreet way. smile.gif

According to this page (see notes near the end of the torrent description) a DVD will soon crop up on Dime. rolleyes.gif

Seems like we can admire Eleni's appearance while we're still alive. biggrin.gif

So, that's seven of them.

The snow that fell two weeks ago has first, blown bare spots, and where it hasn't, turned to ice, now they are forecasting Wednesday.
This is mainly for completists only. Sound quality is beyond description. Pitch issues from beginning to end make this unlistenable.
