Every second magical. Toby vindicated. Support genius. Young Gnomes delighted I think. The best venue in Christendom.

Two contradictory opinions. There are no grey areas.

It was bad and they knew it. ed blaney was like some guy doing oasis covers down the pub.

How did you like the live versions of Mettle Claw and Transfusion Swiss?

Mettle Claw (which I love) was beautiful & Transfusion blew the back of my head off so that Young Gnomes had to scrabble around like Jackie Kennedy to replace it so that we could get a taxi home.

We liked it, Sticks also great as always, looking forward to tomorrow (fingers crossed for an encore or just more). Hats off to the very relaxed security duo, and to Mason for manning sound-desk during Sticks absence. Maybe short gig, but full album played, MES & Ed in good spirits. Home happy here in Hove.

& I'll tell you one more thing before I go to bed: That Ed Blaney's a good looking man. Especially in extremis (as the Romans said).

And while the drunks sober up...
My considered opinion: Amazing!!
I may do a full review later, but it was just some kind of wonderful seeing MES that up close and personal.

Some of us - ie me - know the Westhill as a "community hall", so stayed behind to pick up your detritus.
Yes, I'm a saint, stop going on.
This is what you missed.

Talking to the "bouncer" blokes.
Me; "What did you think?"
Bloke 1; "It was good. He was nice."
Me; "Which one?"
Bloke 1; "The old man. The singer."
Me; "Nice?"
Bloke 2; "Yeah, he was."
Bloke 1; "He was funny, though."
Me; "Really?"
Bloke 1; "Yeah. He said goodbye and then walked into the door."

Yes. It was not The Fall.
Hence the names on the tickets.
You stupid tit.

No. He is not.
Anyway, the only bit I didn't like was Ed shouting abuse at the soundman.
Your man's trying to do his best, stop doing your sub MES shtick.
You don't have to be rude all the time.
You could be polite, and say "please".
Oy vey.

In lieu of a review...
The other high/low point was during Real Good Time Together.
Someone right behind me was bellowing out the words.
"Oh, so you know the words to this one? Wow!"
But really loud.
And so fucking annoying.
Turned round and gave him the evils.
Frank Skinner.

Sorry Frank.

I may go to bed now.
