Can't disagree with that.

Pinhead did some fine vocals at the end of Blindness. applaud.gif

I'm a rare visitor who thought Friday was better, both excellent.

The dismal film was dismal but having seen one before, at least you knew it'd finish.

Group on at 1035ish

This from memory:

Inst. >> Pacifying joint
My door
Fall sound
Sparta
(Dunno)
Over!
Senior trolley magnate etc.
Systematic abuse
The Wright stuff sans MES

Group endeth 1140ish

Both Glasgow nights ended with B/ness, w/mic given to audience who made similar noise.

My fourth Fall gig in a week, beating my previous best of three.

I like The Fall.
I do.
It's just something that has to be stated from time to time.
Something fundamental that can be forgotten amongst all the practical and virtual nonsense that can cloud our view.
"I like The Fall."
"The Fall are good."
Simplistic, childish statements given glorious aural, visual and physical affirmation by the reality of The Fall.
The Fall sound.
The experience of a Fall gig.
Watching and being part of the crowd.

This week just served to remind me what it was about The Fall that got me hooked in the first place.
The Fall.
Whatever that may be.

Despite preferring the Monday night to the Tuesday night in Edinburgh, I felt on Tuesday that the MES I saw in the early 80s was still around and every bit what he was. And also that there's no reason, health permitting, why he couldn't go on for several more decades. I haven't felt that since the Network show in late 1990.

Magnificent - again.

Mrs S's keyboard volume was kept under control.

Highlights for me:
When during Sparta, MES took mic back-stage and continued singing.

Near the end of Hungry Freaks when MES turned up The Eagle's bass.

During Reformation when MES managed to twiddle on Elena's keyboard IN TUNE!

And the most magnificent Blindness I've heard.

This is a great line-up. For me RPTLC is weak, but I reckon a lot of that's down to them just getting to grips with the Fallness of everything. I think the next album will be a corker.

Yes, djbawbag - great picture.

And you're right - we do take him for granted sometimes - well, I do anyway.
I was thinking of not going to Hammersmith as I'm not 100% and have no money. But I think I'm going to try now.

The group are on absolutely blinding form just now. If you need to sell family heirlooms or even a kidney in order to get to a gig on this tour then do it.

You know it makes sense. biggrin.gif

Hmmm. You both make a very good case.

Some great pics there Altfish, nice to have met you.

Hello also to Steve Hamilton, Mt Pharmcist, Toby, PTCW , Silvershirt and any others I met over the course.

Great gig marred slightly by annoying drunk menacing some guy down the front.

Some will have been annoyed at the fact a barrier has been put up infront of the stage so there was no stage invasions, crotch fumbling or instrument meddling.

Had a chat/photo session with group after gig outside, they were going off to celebrate The Eagles birthday. What a nice bunch of lads putting up with my warbling.

Well thats me till the next Scottish dates, hope everyone enjoys the shows they have pencilled in.

whup!!!!

Great night again on Saturday, was the guy you mentioned wearing a green parka. He was annoying everyone at the start of the show, but I thought he might have got thrown out. I did feel Saturday night maybe wasnt as packed as Friday so maybe you could see any trouble coming!
Was sorry I never met any Forum members on the nights, on Friday my mate was meeting someone in the Solid Rock so we went there beforehand, and on Saturday I was driving and couldnt face the pub before it. Getting old!

Hopefully The Fall will be back soon, I thought they were much better than last years QM and Ferry shows.

Be quite happy if I never see Safi again.

I'm curious about where the band came from to get onstage. There doesn't appear to be a backstage area in these photos. Did they have to push through the crowd?

No, there was a door on the back right hand side (as the audience looked at it) of the stage, behind Orpheo's left shoulder
