Thursday nights gig was the poorest of the four so far. They opened with Senior twilight stock replacer but MES didn't show up until about 2 mins into Systematic Abuse. The group seemed a bit lack lustre, not really up for it in my opinion. The highlight was definately Blindness which the group absolutely nailed, brilliant. MES turned the bass way up about 2/3 of the way through, it was like being hit in the ribs with a baseball bat, but in a nice way. I'd give last night a 5/10

Strange encore, back on and straight into Reformation, so far so good. About 3 minutes in they just spluttered then ripped into White Lightning. Then Wright Stuff, going along normally until some guy appeared from back stage and told Orpheo to come off. The band continued without drums for a few minutes then left.

It reminded me of the cartoons where Wile Coyote runs of the cliff and keeps running until he realises what he's done then plummets.

All in all not bad gig just sort of average, I think it's a mark of how good this line up has been live that a 60+ set is only judged as average. They can and no doubt will do much better gigs than this on the tour.

Been a good week so far. biggrin.gif

Long time fan first post - hopefully this will work.

Strange, I attended both Aberdeen gigs and thought that the second night was better, although both were very good. The amount of alcohol consumed however has left the running order a bit hazy!

I have a set list for the first night which I note someone has already posted, would be interested to see the second.

Could have done without the fat security guard at the front tho.

I would rate the current band the best since the mid 80's. Two bass players do it for me - still can't hear properly. Both gigs are up there with the Venue in 1987 - the reason I am now a slightly obsessed fan. Anyone else attend that gig?

I do believe that gig was the inspiration for my username, was that not the bacofoil shirt night?

I'm pretty sure I saw Zodiac Mindwarp the following night huh.gif

It certainly was the silver shirt night, Truimph belt buckle, riding boots the lot! The shirt has made a second appearance - The Lemon Tree 1997. This time UNDER a green shirt, an interesting look eh. I wouldn't imagine he'd own two.

I have Brix's pick from the Venue gig, she looked pretty good that night also, for different reasons tho.

The Venue was a great, I think you're right about Zodiac Mindwarp by the way - not such a great gig.

This recording really sounds fantastic. applaud.gif thumbsup.gif

No need to mention the musical content's quality.
