Full Metal Jacket; the vietnam scenes were filmed quite close to me, apparently. Well, not that close, but I know the area quite well. It isn't that far away.

That's it, yes! I'll have to double-check, but I think it was filmed somewhere near Beckton, which I used to go past quite often.

I'm sure I read once that Kubrick would only film within an hour's drive from his home. I'm not sure how far back that goes; possibly every film he made after Strangelove.
