Went to see "The Invention of Lying" last week

It's basically a Ricky Gervaise romcom, , and it's not that good.

Hmmm...now what have I seen recently?

The Kite Runner. This is a stunning film, I can't decide whether to give it a 9 so I'll say...actually I will - 9/10

Whisper of the Heart. A simple, innocent film. This had lots of potential to be mushy, but wasn't. Studio Ghibli and especially anything involving Hayao Miyazaki often equals genius. 8/10

The Hurt Locker. Apparently one of the best war films of all-time. I wouldn't go that far but it was good. 7/10

Have just seen The Informant! (The exclamation mark is their own)

7/10 I'll say. Quite entertaining and slightly comical, all the more for being based on reality. Can't really say too much fear of spoiling "the twist" but it's basically the true story of a man who sees that his company is doing dodgy price fixing stuff and agrees to become an informant for the FBI, filming lots of meetings and conversations to gather evidence. What puzzles some of the FBI agents is that he is earning a fortune at the company and nobody understands why he'd want to jeopardise that by being a "rat". Then things start going a bit mad...
