Invite: Open. Character Sheet: If you have a link, give it, if not: Name, Appearance, Personality. Setting: The Nine Circles of Hell. More information at http://www.4degreez.com/misc/dante-inferno-information.html . Magic and fantasy-like powers allowed. Fandom: Allowed. House Rules: Ok. I know that normally, you can't go throughout Hell as you please, but for the RPG's sake, you can here. And your character's introductory post must be them dying or them already in Hell. Because it's based in Hell. And all characters must be at least a bit evil. Because how would they be in Hell, otherwise? Description: Inspired by a quizzy. XD You can take it here.
Life after death. Although, some wouldn't call it life.
Moments of peace, of pure happiness, before being wrenched away, pulled into the eternal damnation that is Hell. And that was how it was, for the longest time.
Until, of course, Satan's triumph over God. As his eyes turned to the ruling of Earth and the living, the torments of Hell became lax and the guards of the gates faltered; and with their temporary reprise, the damned began their own rule of the underworld, turning the once place of torment into an underground anarchy without death, without rules... and without limits.
==========================
LEVEL INFORMATION (Cut directly from a post)
"Alright, first level..." he led them to the staircase, walking up. "Each level sustains a vice or otherwise has a use. First is just your generic resting eating fancy medieval style castle based hotel. Second level's..." "Lust themed. Ne?" "Nailed it, Grey. Third's been turned into food prep, fourth is a huge assed supply area, and let me tell you, I mean huge. You can find anything there. And then the fifth... the veritable competitive sport and sparring level. Sixth... well, they call it a political debate area, because it used to be a crapload of heretics and whatnot. And then seventh... I don't really go there much. It's like a psychiatric ward, but it's also weird. Bunch of emo kids and whatnot. And then eight and nine are administration."
"Good morning, my lord." He remained, sitting at the table and drinking his morning coffee while he read the paper. "Good morning, Grey," he responded, eyes not leaving the front page. "It's a great time to be alive for our kind." "I couldn't agree more, my lord," she whispered. "Aa." For a moment after, there was nothing but silence. Then a gunshot. Blood spots littered the paper he'd long put down, arm pointed back, the gun inches from her heart. She fell over, the man quickly catching her, looking down at her as she struggled to stay conscious. He was still sitting in his chair, coffee in his free hand. He placed it on the table, leaning closer. Her grip slipped, and with a clatter, the dagger fell to the floor. He slowly ran his fingers over her eyes, closing them. "Goodnight, Grey."
Her eyes slowly opened. Had he gotten medical attention? Had someone found her? "Hey, she's awake!" someone yelled from above. She looked up at them, blinking. "What?" she whispered, slowly sitting up. "What the hell's going on? Where the hell am I?" "Might come as a bit of a shock, but you're dead," a young Scottish man said, hopping down from a tall rock. "And in Hell, I might add."
"Damn you!" Drake called, as he was sent through the gate of hell. A group of 'purifiers' had banished him into the underworld, for the sole reason that he was half-demon. This was not the first time he entered hell, as it was where he was cursed with demonic powers. Once inside, he decided to search around to see the newly dead people, for maybe he could kill in one or two of them before they had left for the depths of the underworld.
Upon arriving, he noticed there was no one around except for a female lying on the ground, and a Scottish man standing above her.
Grey looked over at the man who'd just arrived. The scottish guy looked over, examining him. "New here, too?" he asked while moving to Grey. "What's your name?" he asked her, holding out a hand. She took it, standing. "Grey. And yours?" "Barty. Barty Crouch Jr."
((BUM BUM BUMMMM! I'll submit a character sheet soon enough... and then edit this post... But he owns. And he's Scottish because David Tennant is Scottish, and that's who played him. And JKR never specified. So bleh.))
Drake coughed just to make sure they knew he was there. It was time to get rid of two evil souls. Or at least get some kills. He was now in hell, and his demonic side yelled for souls to devour. Sin was not a problem here, for it was actually looked up upon. Drake could now measure how much power he could hold with his demonic side for once...
"Nice meeting you two here. Now, who wants to die first?"
Barty and Grey's eyes veered towards Drake almost simultaneously. They'd both lived--and died--far past the edge for too long not to take the threat as anything but. Grey's hand involuntarily went to her katana--she would question its existance in Hell later--and Barty's went inside his trenchcoat, a small piece of wood a bit shorter than a dagger appearing in his hand.
Drake drew out his blade, almost triple the width and double the length of the woman's katana. "Now, I said, who wants to be banished first? Don't worry. This'll only either take you further into hell or bring you up into heaven." He was getting impatient. The statement he had last made was just a bluff to make them come attack, for he knew that once one of them died, he would simply feed on that one's soul.
"I think I'll take my chances finding my way in, thank you," Barty said, backing away from Drake. He pulled Grey back by the arm as well, and she quickly started back with him. "What's the way in?" She whispered, keeping her katana ready. "I have no idea. I normally wander up here to lead newbies in, but the entrance closed, and I've yet to find a new one." "Oh, that's great," she responded, quickly glancing around for an escape route.
This would be an easy job, a simple assassination of a mid-level politician. His employer simply wanted the job for himself, but that didn't really matter. All Asale cared about was the money and the difficulty, both of which were in his favor. The target would be having a meeting in a cafe the next morning, and he decided to strike then. The cafe was downtown, with multi-storied buildings on each side of a two-laned road. Asale would get on the roof of the building opposite his target and snipe from there.
He broke into the building that night, and set up for the coming morning. His target showed up, and met with what looked like a police chief. Asale hadn't counted on this, but it shouldn't matter. He only needed one shot, and could abandon the equipment and escape across the conjoined rooftops. He lined up the crosshairs on his target's head and fired. Asale hadn't counted on the chief noticing him and pulling his target down. "Fuck," he said, wide-eyed, as the policeman pulled out a handgun and started firing.
He could either get up and run, or wait for the bastards to get him. He decided on the first option. The chief had better aim than he anticipated though, and got hit in the ribs after only one rooftop. He fell to the ground and slipped out of a conscious state. "How did I fuck that one up?" Asale asked as he got up in new surroundings.

Drake noticed a soul generating on the side of the room. He could take this new one for the kill, or chase the other two. With his mind set, he took the faster option. Walking over to the newly dead, he waited until the person had awakened. Sitting down, minutes had passed by, and finally, the person had awakened. Quick to the turn, Drake stood up and put a hand out.
"Hey. What's your name?" This would be his tactic this time...

He turned to Grey and yelled. "Fine then! Spoil my fun! But you'll never learn how to get out of here!" Reaching for the sword he had dropped next to him, Drake was determined to torture the girl after this. He pointed the tip of the blade at the newly dead, ready to absorb another soul.

Asale was always ready to gain favor with the females, regardless of the fact she had a good-looking guy already next to her, "Right, mate. See you in.. here, really." He pulled out his spare handgun, pointed, and pulled the trigger. *Click* "Seems everything is going wrong today," he said, chucking the useless firearm at the demon.

Grey chuckled, rolling her eyes. "Always, always check your guns," she said, repeating her eldest brother. Her still living brother. As she said this, Barty took her arm again, trying to ease her away. There was a sudden roaring sound, and a huge hole opened up in the ground. Grey and Barty looked over, looked at each other, and bolted towards it. Once they were inside... they'd be safe. Hopefully. "Hey! Newbie! Hurry up!" Barty yelled back at him.

"Newbie... listen, just because you can create wormholes at will doesn't make you superior," he said dashing past Drake. "I mean, you use a soddin' wand," Asale jumped into the hole after them.

Drake was lucky he didn't get hit by a bullet. If he did, who knows what would happen. Either way, he was still a slave to his demon side. Inside, somewhere, he really wanted to help the other three get out of the pit of hell, but of course, that intention was covered up completely, now. As the one in front of him dashed away to a hole opened in the ground, Drake quickly ran for it the opening, too. Speeding up, he had barely made it into the tunnel down to the second level of hell...
Barty skidded to a stop, panting. "I think we'll be safe down here, we're not on the entry level anymore..." "Barty... what level is this?" she asked, looking around, noting the bibles and crosses and studying. "There's all these... good people." "Oh, this is the purgatory. It isn't really a level, it's just where the heaven bound ones go to be cleansed of their sin." He cleared his throat after saying this. "We're not really... allowed here, and even though Satan's distracted, the angels are not. So we'd better go. They don't want us corrupting anyone." "Uh... Right," Grey said. He walked down a hallway, going to a huge staircase. There, a man was waiting. "Barty! What took you so long?" "Some demon tried to eat the newbies' souls, and then the hole closed up... don't know why, either." "Oh, that's just because of the construction. The gate there collapsed. I see you found the new one we created." "Can't you tell me these things beforehand?" Barty asked, a bit annoyed. "Oh, forgive me. So, who are your new friends?" "Eh... This is Grey, and this is... um... who are you, again?" he asked, looking over at Asale.

"Asale," he quickly said, not able to resist the temptation to preach the Flying Spaghetti Monster to some nearby souls. "Don't worry about it," he said to Barty's acquanitance, anticipating a reprimandation, "I don't think the FSM will mind the lack of pirate garb." At this he smirked.

Grey blinked, looking at him. "What...?" she said, Barty leading them down the staircase. "Oh, by the way... Um..." He looked back at Grey for a moment, before saying, "Stay out of level two until you're a bit older. Just hurry to the other levels." "Level two?" Grey asked, blinking. "What's on level two?" "Oh, nothing in particular," he lied.

"You do realize that telling a woman not to do something was the downfall of humanity, right?" he asked to Barty, following them down the stairs. He patted around his pockets, "Oh, and I get the feeling I'll need a weapon."

"Oh, not really. Things have become very organized with Satan gone, and I wasn't talking about violence with level two." "What is it, then?" "Nothing a little kid needs to know about." Grey looked up at Barty, ears red. "Little?! Kid?!" "Ah course," he responded, patting her on the head. "Maybe we should go through the elevator instead."
"Rose?" Grey asked, blinking. "It's a girl from Doctor Who... People always say I look like the Doctor. Bah." "OH! I remember now! Teninch! You know, you do look like him. Just a little."
As Drake fell down the tunnel to a lower layer of hell, he noticed the opening above him begin to close. "What the hell?" he thought, right as he headed near the exit. Looking below, he had noticed that the level they were going to was not in fact the second level of hell, but instead, purgatory. "Damn. That's the only place where I can't control this bastard." Upon landing, he had noticed that the area had changed since he was last here. This was the only level in hell where that demon had no definite control over Drake.
"Maybe I can still catch up to them," he thought, as he began to rush for the path down to the next level...

"Aye. So, where are we headed now, Crichton?" he asked to Barty, "I get the feeling that demon from before won't give up quite so easily. And I've still yet to get any armaments." He lifted up his open coat to show an empty holster and sheath.

Grey sighed, handing him her wakizachi. "Lose it, and you die. Doubly," she warned, Barty blinking. "Crichton?" he pondered. "But I didn't create a wormhole..." He trailed off, grumbling. "Actually, I was going to go to the second level..." He sighed. "Ok. I can take you lot to this next level down. It counts as the first level, and it's a good place for newbies. They have beds and stuff."
Drake continued along his path, crossing what seemed to be a line of holy priests. "This isn't right. Last time I was here, the path down to the next level should of been here..." He turned, only to find himself trapped in a maze of crosses and tombstones. "Damn. I've gone and gotten myself lost. At least I can stick around without any influence from that demon..." Turning through corners and corners of lost souls and 'foreign' objects, he finally came across to a long pathway, where he could recognize the voices of the three he had met the level above.
"I wonder if they'll believe me when I get down there," he laughed.

"Ah, thanks," he said to Grey, examining then sheathing the blade. "As I said, everything has gone wrong today," he explained, and they started to move down, "Must be a Thursday. Anyway, you'll get it back. And, as you said, if you don't, I'll probably already be dead. It would save you the effort," he said, perking up.

Grey quickly moved down the stairs, watching for anyone who would stop her. People passed by, not giving her a second glance. Had it been some sort of... alcohol stash? That would explain the "when you're older" crap Barty had fed her. She was almost to the door, now.
Running down the small pathway of stairs, he was soon able to see the three traveling. He continued to head on, through what now seemed to be a crowd beginning.
----------
Grey had broken off and headed for her own and the other two were traveling in their own directions. He took a small stop to decide who to follow, and chose to follow the lone one, although she was traveling towards the lower level. She was about to enter the door to the lower layer, when Drake shouted out, "Stop!" He guessed that Grey wouldn't stop and would rather just go faster, so he began to pick up his pace.
"How would she believe me?" That was a question not even he could answer...

The idea of a restricted area struck Asale's curious nature, and he set out to investigate. His height helped enable him to blend into the crowd, and avoid potential threats. Asale noticed the half-demon from before, and decided to stay out of view and watch him.

Grey looked back to where Drake was, biting her lip. "Ahh, shit," she whispered, ducking into the second level. She walked quickly, trying to avoid detection while getting away quickly. She darted through the crowd, going into a room. She had entered what seemed to be a large, dimly lit gym full of people and lit with blacklights. A club? She'd been sent to a few in the past for hits, but she'd never conversed with people. "Looking for something?" She turned, looking up at the person. "Uh, no, I'm good," she said, turning away. "Excuse me..." she whispered, trying to pass the man. As she did, he pressed against her, smirking as she quickly moved away. Her arms went up around herself as she tried to make her way through the crowd, but she could feel people near her, bumping against her, and she quickly made her way to the bathroom. "Gods damn... Some hiding place..." She sighed, trying to calm down before heading back through the door, trying to push through the crowd. She felt someone grab her arm, and tried to pull away. "That's her. Isn't she young to be in here?" "Doesn't matter, it's her fault." Someone else helped the first man, both of them grabbing her and trying to wrench her to a room. "Grey?" The group turned, looking over. "Barty?" she said, looking over at him. The two men let her go, and she quickly moved over to where he stood. "Didn't I tell you not to come down here?" He said. He grabbed her wrist, pulling her through the crowd and out of the club. "It's dangerous down here." "Then why the hell were you in here?" she shot back, not expecting an actual answer. "Well... I..." he cleared his throat, veering his eyes away. "I'd enjoy some company every once in a while. Now that I don't have my old friends around; They're all still alive." "Oh..." Grey looked over at him, eyes watching, calculating. How long had he been dead? How long had he felt this loneliness? And what was more, why did he feel so familiar? She was certain she'd never met him before, but... those eyes, those ever subservient eyes... She'd seen them in the mirror far too often. She cleared her throat, sighing. "I'm sorry, Barty... I won't come down here again." "Alright, good. Now, come along, I'll find you a place to stay."
((Here comes my second character, Amy. Look at my signature for her character sheet link.))
"Summon!", Amy yelled into the cold, night sky. As she stuck her staff into the center of what looked to be an 'Alchemist' design, a single glow of light sparked in the air. Down came Winguard, her usual summon used to trace where Drake was.
----------
After an hour or so of gathering items, she was ready to open the gates of Hell, to save Drake from what demise would follow him there. "I hope you're alright," she whispered, as she began to chant the incantation to open the door. No doubt, a few moments later, a red wall with the skull of a demon appeared. It had been a direct gate to the second level of hell, where she believed Zanzaka had already gone to. She entered the gate...
----------
Entering what seemed to be a crowded club of people, she pushed her way through the mass, hoping to somehow find Drake before it was too late.
--------------------
Running through the crowd of people now blocking the staircase, Drake had saw that Grey entered the door to the second level of Hell. "Heh. I guess I brought that on myself." Arriving at the doorway, he had to decide now to either stay here or continue on. Either way, he could only return to the surface world if Zanzaka chose to. Right as he was about to enter the doorway, a familiar presence filled his senses. "Good. Amy's on the other side. Now she can release me from my demon state when I go through." He stepped into the doorway, awaiting what Limbo would present him with...
--------------------
Amy continued to push through the crowd, when she had felt Drake's presence appear out of nowhere. "He's here." She turned and closed her eyes, concentrating on his exact position. Walking around with her eyes closed, she began to near where she thought Drake was, until she had bumped right into another girl, who somehow had that familiar energy which Drake always got on the people he had met. Now on the ground, she looked up and exclaimed a simple, "Sorry."

((Good idea with linking character sheets in the sig. Consider it (lovingly) ripped off. ))
"The hell..." Asale said, eying the newly appeared girl. He still figured he had a chance with Grey, and not trusting the demon and the new girl, he started to move in her direction. He snuck up behind Drake, within striking distance, and waited for any aggression on his, or Amy's, part.

((Haha. I saw your original post and got confused. xD))((I had a bad day, so my post probably won't be as good as usual...))
Amy reached for the hand and pulled herself up. "Oh. Thanks." she muttered," Hey, you're not like any one else around here - you're nicer than them. Why is that?" Her questions had always been strange and somewhat confusing. But just now, she had remembered that Drake was still loose under demonic control, so she turned and quickly pushed through the crowd again, in search of where he might be.
--------------------
Drake had entered this level of hell, expecting to find Amy already there waiting for him. He had always wanted to get rid of that nuisance. Walking towards the crowd, he noticed someone following him with a katana. Quickly turning around, he drew his blood-red sword, in start of a vertical slash which would of cut right through the person.

"Uh..." Grey muttered, completely confused. "I... uh... just got here?" She and Barty quickly followed the woman. She looked around the place, until she saw Asale. "Hey! You! Um... what was his name... um... Empty gun guy!" she yelled, hoping he wouldn't take offense.

((It's a wakizachi, not a katana))
Asale jumped back at the long blade and, because of his unfamiliarity with Grey's wakizachi and he lost his element of surprise, he took off into the crowd. He weaved through the horde around him, making his way for Grey and Barty. When he heard, "Hey! You! Um... what was his name... um... Empty gun guy!" he shot a look at her, and quipped back, "It's Asale, Chiana. And our demon friend is back." He gestured behind him.

Grey looked over at Drake, quickly drawing her katana. Barty drew his wand as well, Grey stepping to the front. "Rangers in back," she said. "And civilians in the very back," Grey said to Amy, not knowing if she was strong or not. "And Asale... just... stay back," she added, sighing. The more people to protect, the worse off they were, but she kept that thought to herself, her and Barty taking defensive stances.
"Civilians? I..." before continuing on, she thought of what the situation was and decided not to talk back just yet. Moving behind Barty, she said back, "Just don't hurt him much, k?" Amy knew that she could subside the demon control over Drake when he was weakened, but she still had feelings for him... Standing ready, she had just hoped that he wouldn't do too much harm to the people in front of her...
--------------------
"Fools."
Drake was overconfident that he would be able to take on all four of his advisories. Regaining hold over his sword, he dashed out, first pushing Grey down with his free hand and then punching Barty somewhere around the face. It didn't matter if the last two hits missed or not, he had just needed to get to Amy. ((Yes, you can make your char dodge.)) Once in front of her, he began his strike, in attempt to kill her now.
Grey quickly ducked out of the way, but Barty wasn't so physically adept, getting struck hard in the jaw and hitting the ground. "Fucker," he whispered, raising his wand to Zanzaku. "Stupefy!" he yelled, a red beam of light shooting at the demon.
From behind him, he heard a cry of "Stupefy!", a magical term commonly used to paralyze its target. "Damn" Drake spoke, as he was struck by the light. Although he was a demon, magic still worked on him, and he slowly tried to break free from paralysis. It was harder than it looked. Using up most of his energy, he finally broke free from the magic. This brought him closer to becoming full-demon. As the dark red wings spurted out from his back, he turned to begin his assault on Barty. "Now die!" he shouted, as he begun to draw his sword down on Barty.

"So, I suppose this isn't a good time to ask, but what happens if we die?" Asale asked toward Barty, watching him be assaulted. Asale stood toward the back like Grey ordered, but still kept the wakizachi drawn. "I mean, we're already dead, so does it just fade to black? I suppose that doesn't work with the Bible declaring eternal suffering, and suicide rates would prolly be killer." He continued, not caring whether anybody was still listening, "Reincarnation doesn't really work, either, because that gives credence to Hinduism... maybe we're just knocked out and in pain? No, because then we would be immortal, and we would are supposed to be killed when the Apocalypse occurs." He stopped paying attention to the others completely, "The Bible is a bugger, isn't it? Prolly why I didn't believe in it the first time 'round."

Amy quickly scooted behind Asale after Drake had almost come to kill her. Catching her breath from the shock that she was about to die, she listened in on what Asale was talking about. After he had asked the stupid question of "What happens if we die", she tried to remember back to what she had learned from her grandpap about death after death. Remembering, she turned to Asale and told him, "When you die when you're already dead, you'll just disappear forever," she took up a frown now, "but since your fighting Zanzaku, he'll probably absorb your soul before you could do anything..." Amy had not yet died, so if she was killed now, and her soul wasn't taken, she would just end up back at the entrance to hell. That or she would just be sent to any one of the afterlife worlds.
Barty quickly ducked back out of the way, sending another Stupification beam at Zanzaku as he tried to get back. "No," he quickly responded. "People can't die down here; Nowhere else to go. Probably dealing with both matter's inability to be created or destroyed and our fucked up creator's desire to forever torment everybody." He skidded to a stop a fair distance from Zanzaku, before adding, "Though, he could probably still eat you."
((Just woke up so I don't know how this post'll go.))
This time prepared, Drake leapt out out of the way when Barty had used his spell. "Stupid fool. You can't get me twice with the same attack." Feeling now angered, he quickly turned instead and attempted to grab Asale and pull him into the ground.

"Ah, that's a nice thought," Asale replied, "S'pose there's no harm in joining the fray, then." He dodged the attempted grapple, leaving Amy in the open, and raised his borrowed blade. He dove toward the demon with reckless abandon, leaving himself open to a counter-attack.

Drake backed up when Asale dodged his attack. He watched as the man began his charge, and instead of moving stood in place. Quickly grabbing the blade as soon as it came near enough, he threw Asale unto the ground. "Fool." Turning, he began to walk towards Barty for another try, completely leaving himself open for an attack from behind. He was slowly turning into a full demon now, and also began to lose his tactical thought, shifting his actions to be based on emotions.
This post has been edited by Devking on Feb 11 2007, 10:44 AM
Grey looked at Asale, then at Drake's open backside, then back at Asale, pausing for a moment. "Wait a tick... screw it!" Grey thought, going in to attempt a stab. "Back!" Barty yelled at her, before adding, "Sectumsempra!"
((If it hits, it basically does a deep gash across the target in whatever way the wand is moved; in this casenario, it would be diagonally across the chest, closer to being horizontal than vertical. And "Who uses their username..." ))
Watching the battle from the side, somewhat hidden by the crowd of people, she hoped that nothing too drastic would happen. There were only three things she was worried about at this point: Drake taking too much damage from this battle, the right time to literally seal his inner demon, and blood. If blood from Drake at this point were to spread, the demonic disease he carried could also spread. As the battle began to take a turn for the worse, she had heard the spell, "Sectumsempra", cast. It would in fact hurt Zanzaku enough so that she could seal him, but the contact of the spell would bleed out some of the virus. Trying to somehow stop the attack, Amy instead was dragged back into the crowd, unable to escape.
