Angeline would be equally suprised to know she could inflict pain. She likes Tom - likes him a lot - but she doesn't put much stock on their relationship. Doesn't trust much weight on it. It's not like they know each other.

There's a reason for that, at this point in the relationship, the truth would likely end the whole thing, and Tom finds that thought depressing.

Tom is probably right. His newly acquired... what? Mistress? No. Girlfriend? Not really. Lover? One time only. Angeline, anyway, she's a bit skittish around magic. But for now what she doesn't know won't hurt her.
The silence is starting to get awkward now so Angeline fetches around for something to say. "Elsie's staying with a friend for dinner," she says, cursing herself for using Elsie as conversation fodder - your kid is never romantic. "But if you hang around you'll probably see her... If you want to. She'd be excited anyway, she's always asking about you." Elsie's in the market for a dad. -------------------- |

Angeline wonders if he's trying to get out of sleeping with her again, but she lets it slide. "Nah, it's all right. I imagine she's having a nice time with Laura. You can see her later."

Getting out of sleeping with her again hasn't even crossed his mind. He'd like to do it again. He won't be too forward though, he doesn't want her to think he's only around for one thing. "It's fine. Let's head out then."
