There are currently 2 spambots in the 40k general discussion that need to be dealt with.

Thanks. wink.gif

Luc's Mod-Sword: Belonging to Baron Luc Arkhame the Noob Slayer, this ancient blade has butchered too many useless threads to count.
The Mod-Sword wounds automatically all posts and all posters that are subject to the Stupidity rule. No saves of any kind can be taken. All hits count as flaming attacks. In addition, the wearer is Frenzied.

It doesn't do flaming hits? I ask you ...

Teehee, very good all the same.

Shouldn't it be immunity to flaming hits? It is, after all, a weapon designed to defeat flamers and trolls as well as spammers.

I was referring to the following:
QUOTE (Luc)

although perhaps you're right. Perhaps the reference to Stupidity should be removed, though, as you can construct a post that is spam, flame or trolling and still be intelligent about it. Just make it affect Flamers, Trolls and Spammers - aren't they a type of Gnoblar?

On second thoughts, I fear perhaps we should stop this conversation lest we invoke the Mod-Sword ourselves.

There is no need to point them out, I'll get to them when I get to them.

Is there an Invisionfree option that allows to make new users copy a code before being accepted? Y'know, to stop spambots from registering...

If there's such an option, t'would be nice.

xkcd FTW!

Anyway, to stay on topic, I'll have a look-see, but I promise nothing.

"They'd use that Futurama episode with Fry's dog, but even spambots would cry at that." Hehe, XKCD.

I haven't seen an Invisionfree board yet that has a code-copy-thing, unless I've forgotten. I mean, I spam so many sites a day ...

Some do, but it doesn't shut all bots out (some can at times be controlled by humans or something ninja.gif )

Anyways, just put on 'email validation' in Admin CP and you'll never have to deal with bots of any kind again.
