Torin Class Information Torin's hail from
~Epion~ Their territory lies on the Ralmar Continent, south of the river of Sorrow. The landscape is the most diverse in the Realm. From thick jungles, jagged mountains, rolling hills with scattered forest, to a small patch of dessert. The area is divided into regions known for the tribe that most dominate in that area by population. Tribes are known to wander, but the bulk of the particular tribe resides in their own region. The Torin Tribes major export is food. From vegetables, grain, meat and spices. Almost 1/3 of the Torrent Nation's food is grown there. 90% of the Ralmar continent depends on this harvest as well. Torin's do this not for money though, they do it because the world depends on it. The payment is just enough to cover Torin Social projects and funding for Counsel matters. The other half of food profits go to the Caprians, which transport it to the Torrent Nation.
Torin AnatomyTorin's conceive about once every 65 years. The children are also born one at a time. Their gestation is about 6 years. This has been known to kill crossbreeds. The fetus does not produce a bump expanding more than 3 inches. The birth is given unto a pod. Seed like in nature. These pods are placed in nests high into the canopies of trees. Where children of 15 years, resembling that of only a human sixth year child. Takes care of these pods well into their infancy. Upon birth, the pod splits and reveals a toddler capable of steady walk and basic interaction. For 5 years, the infants stay high in the canopy depending on other children to raise them. After leaving the nests, the children spend the next 10 years staying around their tree of birth. Until they have raised a pod or two themselves. After leaving, the tree Torin's are considered adults and are left to discover the world on their own. All Torins are considered half pant half-humanoid mammal. Their cells are mammal like, but have chlorophyll. The still have to eat, but not much if they spend their time out in the sun and hydrated. Torins also posses regeneration properties to all non-critical areas. Mostly head and upper chest results in sure death. The heart is incased in a shell. This heart is said to be a seed, for when a Torin dies a large oak blooms in its grave. Tall enough and with enough girth, to house two child nests. The Torins also have a gift of Astral Conscious. All are able to send their spirit separate of their body allowing them to view the world around them or to use their spirits to alter specific elements.
Mating Torins may mate with many different species. This decreases the chance for offspring, and the child will only show Torin characteristics typically. The child will be not be considered a highborn. Torins breeding Torin's are considered highborn. Even if one or both parents are mixed Torin's. The Noble's are only pure breed Torin's kept clean through the eons.
Torin Traits Hyperactive Intellect- Brains Processing power is highly tuned.
Delicate senses. Can hear and see great distances. Sophisticated olfactory senses.
Complete index and photographic memory. Never forgets information, may ignore it though.
Rapid Reflexes. Built from hand eye coordination
Lesser organs are able to regenerate. (Does not apply for heart, brain, large portions of lung/stomach)
Limbs have slow but complete regenerative properties.
Metaphysical Mysticism- Using bodies own energies to interrupt and mold the world around you.
This is taught through out the tribes. Magick is forbidden in the Torin Federation, as it consumes the mana from the world around you instead of coming from yourself and is deemed heresy in Torin lands. This power is further regulated below.
Only speak Epion. Most choose only use other languages when it is necessary.
Astral projection- Allows Torin conscious to leave the body and traverse the astral realm as well as the world of their bodies’ location.
Torin Life At age, 20 Torins enter their specific society. If born among the tribes the parents will introduce themselves along with the tribal leader. Then the Torin will take up the role typical of their tribe. Born outside of Torin territories parent will raise a child for about 15 years. The child will be physically weaker, but much more intelligent. However, these children also become manipulative, and cruel.
Tribes and Traits Taiog- Royal Tribe
Mottuat- Warrior Tribe
Kawwas- Farming/Commerce Tribe
Nu'gozu- Slave Tribe
Nu'rot- Alien Race. Integrated into Torin Tribes.
Approxian- Mass secession of unorthodox Torin. Still participates in Counsel. Chose secession for more voice and freedom. This tribe toys with technology.
Structure: Torin jobs are directly related to their tribe class. The slave tribe is not truly slaves so to speak. Instead, they agree to do what is best for the other tribes instead of themselves. Although there is a warrior tribe, they are usually, the first ones called to battle. The Nu'gozu also do the bulk of the farming.
The common tribe packs it, ships it, and collects revenue by and large.
The Kawwas are known for being the most populous of the tribes. The also have normal jobs such as tailors, innkeepers, and smiths. Since the war, it is said that fifty percent of all Torins you meet are born from the Kawwas or has a parent that was.
The Muttuats are the smallest tribe due to the crippling affects of the war. The only Muttuats to survive the war were the Elder Chiefs and the younglings. Since then it is rare to run across the true warriors of the tribes this lead to the Sentinel Contract.
The Royal tribes are the pure breads of the tribes. No crossbreeding in any of the twenty families has granted the gift of sight against the Astral Valence. It allows them to see the astral world as well as the physical realm simultaneously. Granting them the strongest mystic gift of Auramancy. Cosmic power in the palm of ones hand. Their social standing is also strenuously high almost alienating from typical tribe life. For they are the only Torin to build permanent homes.
Culture: Art- Mostly song and stories. Painting and craft is abundant, but is more personal that spectacle.
Clothing- Form over fashion. Enough said.
Surname- the Fathers last name is the Suffix and the mothers first name is the prefix. Mothers lose their name in general and are referred to as the surname. Typically, they marry into the mother’s tribe. Exceptions. Royalty marries out.
Cuisine- A rich blend of natural foods. Fresh meats and veggies. Most drinks are also allowed. Torins however are poisoned by sweets. Refined or milled sugar will interact with certain glands in the body and cause's a massive decay in flesh around sweat prone areas. Too much sugar and it is guaranteed fatal.
Dwellings: Torin communities are known to move with weather changes. Since the seasons on Epion change dramatically, so to does the Torin lands. The tribes still respect their regions, but will never stay in the same place for long. Entire towns have been known to leave and sprout two different towns with a weeks travel in between. This fact has confounded more than one human cartographer. Torin homes are all basically tents. The common practice is to dig out a floor several feet deep and trench around it to collect water. Your tent skins would fasten low to the ground with enough tilt to allow water runoff. These huts are warm in winter and cool in summer. Constantly ventilated and dry year round. These huts are large enough to house five people comfortably. Only one room is need since Torin are very social with other Torin.

(Storm Sage- They are often called storm sages until they master either Volcanic or Steam. Both are required for Chief Consideration, but only one for shaman.)
Templar*- A fully trained auramancer has all the powers of a Storm Sage. Once this time has come to pass Auramancers are knighted as Templar. Necromancy is only taught at this stage as to the thin line this skill walks along the Torin Path
