 Forum is Not Moving |

In the chatbox, someone claiming to be Aherne Silverwood is saying that the forum is moving to a new location. This new URL ends with .tk, and, therefore, is highly suspect, as nearly 10% of those sites are LITERALLY nothing but malware.
No moves or changes have been discussed with either me or Shadow, and Aherne's player has not been in contact with anyone who regularly converses with her on any channels. This new Aherne is a fraud, and is to be considered untrustworthy.
Therefore, do NOT go the URL specified in the chatbox. If there are to be ANY changes made to ROM, you will read about it here first. |

| Profanity Ban Lift |

All righty.
After tabulating the votes (it's not that hard), I have decided to remove the profanity filters. That does NOT, however, and this is very important, invite or encourage profanity in posts. Frequent, continual, excessive, or unnecessary use will still be subject to warnings and stricter punishments if those warnings fail. Occasional outbursts are now acceptable, but be warned that puting profanity in every post will get you in trouble.
Secondly, and even more importantly, profanity is stilled BANNED in OOC posts. While we have decided that we are mature enough to swear in an IC capacity, we have also decided that we are mature enough to use those words properly. We should also be mature enough to draw a distinction between the OOC and the IC. Profanity in OOC posts crosses that line and will not be tolerated. We are mature, and should be able to express ourselves OOC in a way that denotes that.

| Profiles and New Boards |

Hey everyone,
First, we've got new boards. The King of Theives and Bandits have had their own colors for awhile now, but now they also have their own profile boards *throws confetti*
In other news, all the profiles have been organized, duplicates deleted, and whatnot. Any profiles from characters whose accounts have been deleted can now be found in the Old Archives board.
All current active accounts' profiles have been moved to their "proper" locations, and any duplicates should have been deleted. If you find that your profile is in the wrong area, or if you find a duplicate, let me know. In the case of duplicates, I tried to keep the most recent one on file.

Hey everybody,
Mercra here. A month or so ago, Rahina asked me to be the de facto administrator of the site since her real life obligations were beginning to overwhelm her. After speaking with her recently, she feels that she is no longer able to fulfill her obligations as admin to Realm of Mystery any longer, and doesn't foresee the situation clearing up any time soon. Therefore, she has put me in charge of the Realm of Mystery since Aherne has been absent for quite some time with little to no word from her.
I have asked MidnightShadow to be my co-administrator, and she has agreed.
What this means for the site: Business will continue as usual for the site. Shadow and I are not planning any sweeping changes to the site's appearance, rules, or procedures. We are always open to comments and questions from the players of the Realm of Mystery, but as of right now, all we are looking for is a continuation and strengthening of the Realm of Myst ...read more |

Hello everyone, your friendly neighborhood Admin again!  The purpose of this posting is to explain to everyone who and what the Global Moderators on RoM are. I hope to help the Global Moderators understand what I expect from them, and help everyone else understand what they can expect from the Global Moderators.
First, a simple definition of a Global Moderator: In its most basic form, a Global Moderator (GM) has the power to “moderate” all boards within a forum. This means they can edit, delete, pin, close, etc all topics.
This leads me to the first set of duties that GMs perform – correcting spelling and grammatical errors in topic titles and posts. Ok, here is the deal. If I put back in the table which shows the top six posters and the last six posts (which I loved), you will not be able to tell who is where on the forum. I know some of us like knowing what the last posts were better, so I think a vote is the best way to go about this. Please vote if you want it back or not.
I have searched and searched and cannot find another script like it, so if we want it back we will have to deal with not being able to tell who is where on the forum.

| MUST READ!! Realm Ball, Featured Member, and more! |

First off, the Realm Ball:
The all Realm Ball will begin on Sunday, April 13th. You will recieve a PM notice with an invitation hopefully tonight ^^. I will include instructions there as well, in case some miss this post. This ball is for two main reasons; 1. To get some activity going on the boards again, and 2. for everyone to see Rahina is back. The invitation will come from her, but I expect most people will want to see for themselves ^^.
I will post first, and then everyone is welcome to do an intro post. After most people have come in, Rahina will make a post announcing she is back and such, and she will start the dancing. Please no one post they are dancing until Rahina does the announcements! Follow this basic order and we'll all have fun!

Alright! The site is picking up in activity, which is WONDERFUL! We are so happy to see all the old and new faces. In order to clean the site up and make it look alive again, I am asking everyone to check your avatar and sig for links that lead to pictures no longer there.
If you have lost your signature picture or avatar and need a new one, I would be happy to make them for you, simply find the artwork you want to use, and PM it to me along with any other details I will need.
If you still have your signature or avatar picture, or make a new one for yourself and have no where to host it, send them to me, I will host them on the website server - there is TONS of room there!

Ok people, the website needs ROM's history, and I for one cannot remember all of it, so here is what I want:
Everyone who remembers a certain big event, a big change, or a specific time in the Realm that helped shape our world, write it up and post it here. Once everyone has posted, I will compile the information and put in on the website.
I especially need help with ROM's beginning history - I have been around for quite a few years, but I believe Krintar and Fay have been around a little longer and might remember more of ROM's older history.
