Rules of TFS:
1) Don't be an asshole








Historical Rules of TFS:

1) The admins (Iota, Mewchu, Bill, Edge) are in charge. Their word is law. Nobody has higher authority than them in TFS. IF you do not agree with something they do, or feel that any of them shouldn't be in power, then leave.

2) Flaming is prohibited. Members may not make attacks on others. This protection does not include banned members; you can go ahead and make fun of them.

3) Swearing is permitted, but don't go overboard. Please, for all our sakes. What's overboard? Well, if you have more than 3 swear words in your post, consider rethinking it.

4) Gravedigging is defined as posting on a topic that has been abandoned and considered dead. A good rule of thumb is that if the topic hasn't been posted on in two weeks, it's dead. However, that's not an exact measurement; it's up to the staff to decide. Gravedigging isn't allowed, except in certain sections under certain circumstances. A example of bad gravedigging is bringing up an art topic from 2 years ago just to say you found the pic mildy amusing. A good example is bringing back a topic for an upcoming game with new news or a trailer, or something to that extent. Use common sense when deciding.

5) People that have shown themselves as racists or bigots are immediately banned.

6) Posting porn or illegal material (I.E Roms and Mp3s, episodes of TV Shows or Anime or whatever) results in a ban. Just stick to offboard IMs and Emails.

7) Spam shall be defined as a poly-post (multiple posts in a row), posts with less than 5 words, posts with less than one full line of actual talk, going off-topic, and threads with absolutely no conversational or worthwhile value. Spam rules shall not be enforced in the spam forum (The SI). Keep in mind that the staff has the final say in what is Spam and what isn't. Note that you can still be banned from posts in the spam forum

8) Attempting to get around a punishment, be it temporary banning or moderated posting, will result in a permaban.

9) There is only to be ONE account per IP Address. Please do not give us a song-and-dance routine about brothers/sisters/friend who uses computer/whatever that's on the same IP address. This is to prevent people from getting around bans and such. Anyone caught with multiple accounts will have all those accounts banned. Note that this is serious. Also, if you have to make a new account for some reason, tell someone on the staff, perferably an admin, so they can take care of things.

10) If someone is banned, you are not allowed to make posts for them, period. Just find a way to comminicate off the forum.

11) If a staff member makes a request for someone to stop doing some particular action, or something similar, then that person should do so. Failure to comply may result in a warning.

12) Plagiarism on this forum shall be defined as stealing someone else’s work and claiming it as your own. If you're caught plagiarizing, you'll be perma-banned. In stupid: Don't steal the work of others.

13) Attempts to gain another user's password are punishable by death by firing squad.

14) People that leave in a huff are banned as a precaution. We've had people that leave angry return as flamers more than once. So, if you leave and start talking about how horrible we are, you are banned. Nothing personal, and you said you were leaving anyway. No exceptions to this rule are made, not even to former moderators or other important members.

15) If you have problems with a mod, overader, or overlord, then contact an Admin. If you have problems with an admin, I suggest you leave TFS.

16) If a troll/spammer/flamer appears, do not attempt to respond to it. Members are still subject to rules regarding flaming when dealing with 'net-scum. Simply PM a link to a staff member and let them take care of it. Don't try to handle the situation by yourself.

17) If you get 4 warns, the staff will decide wither or not you'll be banned. Just mentioning it. 4 warns isn't a death sentence, but more of a note to the staff to consider if you should be allowed to stay or not.

18) Remember, just because you're friends with an Admin, or you're liked by everyone on the staff, you aren't above the rules. You'll still get in trouble for flaming or posting illegal materials or the works. No one's exempt, except the Admins.

19) Many sections have their own rules in addition to these. Make sure to read the rules posts of those sections before posting. Seriously, read those damn stickies.
