Recently, there's been interesting goings-on across NS feeders. First, let's go over the old one which happened a week ago.
Long story short, Rolhealth (delegate of TWP) ejected an endotarter who was up-and-coming and getting a lot of endorsements quickly. He was shot down by Rol, under the cap, before he went to bed to avoid any problems. Apparently this has caused a little fire under him due to the fact that he was ejected and banned under the endorsement cap. While one side feels it was his duty to do so, the other side wants him to stick to the rules and wait until the guy was over before the banning began. Personally, I can see the validity of both sides, but it's really not that big of a deal in my eyes. Second case: there was an endotarter in TSP a few days ago who reached within nine endorsements of Fudgetopia (112 to 103) before he was brought down and sent to the rejected realms. The nation, Drangonwithrabies, had apparently been in the region for a while then, suddenly, endorsed other nations like crazy and nearly got away with it. This presents some interesting knowledge for the next Magisterium: should we lower the endorsement cap, I wonder. I've been mellow about the rule for a while, but I can see the importance of keeping a lower cap to keep the chances of a coup down. While I have never been attempted to be couped, nor have I had to ban anyone from the region (which means I must be doing something right!), it might be time to lower it to, say, 70 or even 60. -------------------- ![]() "You must be the change you want to see in the world" - Gandhi "The worst prison would be a closed heart." - Pope John Paul II Nation (Vekaiyu) Wiki Page |

I could look at it either way.
Regardless of lowing the cap, I don't think it would hurt to check more (via scripting) for high risks. -------------------- |

I think a lowering of the cap would be a good idea if you are feeling particularly paranoid about it.

TSP situation was pretty weird....who would try to unseat Fudgie? ... almost as crazy as invading TRR
There are rumors (with a great deal of truth behind them...) that TWP situation was not what it seemed - the player pretended to be new, but it was evident that he was a returning player - admin + IP checks = WIN FF is the only one close to cap (I think?) - perhaps we need to talk to him. -------------------- Everything is possible, the impossible just takes longer.

Highly important what Dyr Nasad leaves out is that Rolheath did not follow procedure in treating the individual he ejected.
Technically, the 'Ambitious New Nation' was not even above the endorsement cap, yet he was ejected. The West Pacific is/was not a dictatorship, the delegate has to act within the laws or he becomes a dictator. -------------------- |

Personally I have always been for a low endocap, there is no reason someone needs more than 2 endo unless they want the delegacy.

Why should the delegate get to have all the fun? It's like any group of politicians, simply an affirmation you support someone else. Getting endorsements is pretty easy, it's keeping them that is the issue (at least for someone that becomes delegate). -------------------- |

One hates to point out, but you are technically incorrect. Under the current Constitution of TWP the Delegate was acting well within the law in ejecting the tarting nation. Under TWP law the endocap is more of a "guide" shall we say than a statutory limit. -------------------- "To be alone is to be different, to be different is to be alone." I'm not so sure about that..
What would I know, I was only once an Associate Justice in the West Pacific.. The Constitutionality issue aside, Rolheath is a nice chap who simply made a decision in haste. -------------------- |

But we're talking about the fate of a once great democracy!? I would hate to think of the West Pacific as nothing more than a slave to the hive mind.
