Why don't we have a colony? We are 25th in population, and yet we don't have one, when certainr regions, smaller than us, have as many as three! So...

Also, is this the right forum?

Well, Kittens has a sanctuary, but I don't know if Texas has any official affiliation with it. wink.gif

My main region (much smaller than Texas) has several colonies, but they're mostly puppet-storage lockers. What kind of colony did you have in mind?

That is a good question Univision!

We will give you a couple of easy answers:

1. The invader community in NS sometimes uses the excuse that they are adding a "colony" to their empire when they invade a region, So, we really, really do not want to be associated with that.

2. Another reason is that a colony would dilute our defense resources. We would no longer have a set base of WA nations to defend only Texas, but it would have to divide that base to defend two regions (or more, depending on how many colonies we have). We cannot afford to overextend ourselves.

3. Over the years a number of Texas nations have created annexes of Texas. However, none really took off. Peeps have a hard enough time keeping their Texas nation (and their puppets) alive without worrying about nations in another region. Most peeps only post with one nation, so, keeping two regions active without duplication is difficult.

4. We have found it is easier to create alliances with other regions than to have colonies of our own region.

We are sure some of our fellow TRC members can cite many more reasons why Texas does not have any colonies. We just went for the easy ones.

My answer, Texas is home.

I may create a region for a specific purpose, but it's not a colony. More of a Outpost really...
