Since at least two Texans are engaged in Future Tech role playing through Nation States, I though it might be best to start a thread here dedicated to it. The press release thread will be dedicated to IC reports while this is for basically everything else.

How far future tech are we talking about? My main nation(the Palentine), is in another region, but it RPs a Tech Level similar to the one found in Masamune Shirow's, Appleseed, Dominion, and Ghost in the Shell. We do not have intersteller capacity(just intersystem), and our TL is c.50-150 years in the future. We have advanced AI and computers, Cybernetics, V/STOL(mostly military/police usage), and people able to directly interface with computers(mostly military, but starting to be offered to civilians). With weaponry, firearms are still preferred, with advances in technology and materials increasing power, and magazine cpacity. most laser weapons are still cannon size, as i figure it will take at least another 100 years or so for the microcizing of circuits and dealing with feedback issues to make hand held laser weapons cheap and practical.

I think that would usually be classified as Post Modern Tech.
Most FT is like Star Wars , Star Trek etc. |

That certainly is FT. As for wanting to join in the interception thread, I'd rather you not. However there should be other FT topics for you to join or you could create your own.

These guidelines were posted by F799, however Press Releases is for IC reports only so I have moved them here.
to join in you need to understand a few things first. 1.Texas does not exist as a region, you are your own planet/system/moon whatever 2. we are not necessarily allies because we both are in Texas here 3. The TDF does not exist. 4. It is not all about war, it is actually a lot of times about trying to avert war, not just going in and blowing stuff up 5. your nation's power is directly proportional to your nation's size and distance from your home planet/system/moon/etc you cannot just automatically call in a gazillion battleships if someone does something you do not like. 6. misspelled words, grammatical errors, and typos of any sort are not tolerated on a large scale, a small one here or there by mistake is acceptable. 7. Godmodding=not an option. every person is in direct control of what their characters/vessels/nations do. this most often includes damages and deaths of personal or destruction of property. 8. no one is invincible or all powerful, that ruins the fun for everyone. 9. Space is very large and not all nations are necessarily friendly, don't get mad just play along and remember whatever happens out there on the RP does not have any bearing on your real nation here in Texas 10. Play nice, don't get mad and spout off crazy stupid stuff about how mean or unfair someone else is, and don't drag things from other threads/forums/RPs into another RP,without express permission from the others involved. If you have a problem with another player calmy message them and discuss it. getting mad never solved anything, it just ruins the fun for all. if you can do these few things then there really is nothing to stop you from RPing and having a good time. |

Since the inspector and his buddies won't go voluntarily I'm thinking of doing a site to site transport to the brig.
I also realize that the area of space the altercation is taking place in is deep space for Trecdom therefore there won't be much in the way of reinforcements. However I have mentioned that the Susquehanna isn't the only Trecdom ship in deep space so I am going to bring in a Prometheus class starship to have some backup. http://bfinfobase.org/index.php?title=Prometheus_Class As for the Susquehanna itself, once we knock out the tractor beams we stick the inspection team in an escape pod than attempt to leave the area on impulse. In regards to relations between F799 and Trecdom I see a few options. 1. Non-Aggression Pact 2. Mutual Defense Agreement 3. Allies Thoughts, questions, criticisms. The Mutual-Defense Pact of Neighboring Systems:
simply states that the undersigners agee to watch out for and assist in any defense, if possible, of the other undersigned nations. This includes military, economic, and intelligence defense. It also states that no signers will actively work towards the destruction or inhibition of other signers, nor will they prohibit trade, research or exploration, except for the mutual defense of all involved. how's that sound? |

Looking at the requirements and such, I do beleive I'll pass on getting involved. I have one FT Nation, but as I kinda base it on the WWWA of The Dirty Pair, its more suited for RP of a action/humor type.

Well you could join the New Alamo thread on these boards, it's pretty much open to anyone.
On the topic of INTERCEPTION: With this other fleet (Ship?) moving between my ships and the IRON ships it may disrupt the tractor beam. Not sure how that works. F799 what are your thoughts on this? |

Did you join the GCP or just asked for a gate elsewhere? |

tractor beams, yup I agree. with those large ships in the way they can't work.
As for the gate thing, I never asked for a gate and Bavin objected to my joining the GCP so I withdrew my application. What does that little message mean? |

Maybe all members of the GCP get gates, that would be nice. Assuming that is correct, than I guess you were next in line pending acceptance.
With all due respect, as you took the offensive in interception and fired on a GCP ship I'm not surprised your application was turned down. Thanks for the help though. |

F799, I suggest you follow the advice on the inquiry thread. You were not a major player and as such have less interest in the outcome. Plus I think I am the only nation involved with diplomatic ties to you. Once this is settled we can do a thread where we inform you of the outcome.

I saw that. Thank you. As an independent government it would seem that I should be allowed.
Honestly the part I take offense to is thretening me with the mods if I do not remove myself. IN the OOC he had "sugestions" for who would come, and nowhere was it listed as "closed" so I figuged it was game if I came. The threat is what upset me. I can leave no problem, only a nice post asking would've worked better, which i informed the individual via telegram. |

No offense CHW but you asked and were told no. The situation has cooled down and there is no need for further intervention.
