***** New WA Resolution Notification ***** The last WA Resolution - International Competition Law - was passed on November 3rd, by a vote of 3,679 votes FOR to 2,019 votes AGAINST. NewTexas cast the region's 44 votes AGAINST the Resolution based on publicly-expressed opinions. The 5,698 total votes represented a 7% decrease in total votes cast from the previous vote (which was down 4% from the one prior to that). Of all 11,785 WA Members, 26% voted on this issue (same as last vote's similar 26%). Also, in this vote, of the 891 WA Delegates, 36% voted (down 5% from last vote's 37%). The Texas voting power was in 11th place (up 3 from last vote's 13th) of all the regions that voted. As always, this is based on the last voting results only. The overall FOR vote percentage was 64.6%. The WA Delegates vote was 62% FOR. Once again, Texans, please note, your individual vote does count! There is a new vote called:
Well, this is quite possibly biggest piece of crap the World Assembly has ever let continue since "HIPPOS ARE REALLY QUITE LARGE" actually went to a vote. We will repeat what we said when the 10000 Islands commendation came up for a vote. This one is pretty simple. 10000 Islands is one of our oldest allies. Grub is the Founder of 10KI. The Texas Defense Forces helps them; they help us. They hate invaders; we hate invaders. We like Grub; he likes us. We have known Grub since 2003 and have nothing but respect for him. This is a no-brainer in our book. NewTexas will go on record as AGAINST on this Resolution. This is only the opinion of NewTexas. We look forward to other Texans' opinions and comments on this Resolution. If good arguments to the contrary are made, we will reconsider our position. The Texas response rate was down a little on the last vote. As a reminder, all we are looking for is a simple 10% of Texans to say one way or another. We used to do it all the time, and then we stopped. Let's do it again for a while! We really can get this back up and we can keep it up Texas. Let's Go! We are a force for change in the WA. Every vote counts! There were 11 opinions expressed on the last Resolution with the final Texas tally running 2 FOR and 9 AGAINST and 0 ABSTAIN and 0 UNDECIDED. Texans were close to being unanimous on the last issue. NewTexas is open to suggestions on how we should vote on this Resolution to most accurately reflect opinion of the populace. All comments are welcome from all nations, both WA Members as well as those who are not. *As always, the WA Delegate vote will be based on popular opinion.* Please make your voice heard on the current issue either on this message board or on our offsite message board. But, by all means, please vote on the WA Page! Texas is currently in 26th place in the world in number of nations (same as last vote's 26th - Sigh) and is now in 22nd in the world in total WA Endorsements (same as last two votes' 22nd - Ok). Currently, 28% of Texas' population is a WA member (up from 27% on the last vote - 49 nations - same as 49 on last vote - Ok). Also currently, 89.58% endorse the Delegate (43 nations - down 1 from 44 on last vote - Sigh). Both of those stats could and should be better. We need to get the Endorsements up if we are going to catch those ahead and fend off those behind! The world is shrinking dramatically and regions are coalescing as the small ones disappear. It will be harder to keep up, but we can do it. It would be nice if we could do a little better or at least hang onto this position so we can be a force to change things. And, so we can simply defend ourselves! If you do not have a WA nation; please consider either joining with your main nation or creating a puppet to vote for you. Texas is truly a global power in WA Affairs thanks to your help! Let's keep it up! If you would like to take part in shaping the world you live in, please vote. Voting is a right and a privilege, please consider using it. All WA Member nations please vote. Please make your opinions known by midnight Friday as voting ends at 10:58AM Texas Time on Saturday the 7th. Current voting in The World is running - Votes FOR: 511 Votes AGAINST: 1,591 Big Tex PS: Don't forget to vote! This resolution has failed by the widest margin in the history of either the UN or the WA: 79% to 21%. Congrats to Daynor for setting a new all-time NS world record!
