The Never Ending Bar-B-Que!

   The Never Ending Bar-B-Que

Howdy old Texans and new Texans alike! Come one, come all, to the newest hot spot in Texas!

Welcome to The Never Ending Bar-B-Que!  This is the Texas watering hole for new nations, old nations and visitors.  Here we have BBQs, we have bonfires, we watch fireworks, we eat, drink and be merry!  Here we welcome new arrivals and visiting dignitaries alike.  Here we have fun!  As we tell every single Texan in our welcoming message, it doesn't matter if you are from Texas or have never been here, Texas is a State of Mind!

Texas, this is your place in the day and the night.  Feel free to add images of Texas, messages of welcome, wishes of joy and just all around stuff you would like to share with your fellow Texans.  Talk about what you are doing right now, this weekend or what stupid thing you did when you were 13 years old!  This is a free-form thread with a Texas flair geared toward fun, partying and celebration.

For new Texans, we encourage you to visit the Texas Nations Forum where you can create a thread describing your own nation and can check out your fellow-Texans' nations.  Also on that page, you can add information about your National Anthem and key citizens of your nation.  Here are some more links to get you started.

Fun Links

And that is just scraping the top of the list.  There are over 4,100 topics!  There are over 800 members ! There are over 41,000 replies to those topics!  Texans have read these topics over 525,000 times!  So there is plenty to see and do!

Texans, like the flame of the bonfire or the smoke and smell of a good BBQ, let your creativity flow.  This is just the beginning of a never-ending story.  We encourage all to join us in the party!  Be all you can be, do all you can do, show the world why Texas is the best region in both the NationStates world as well as the real world!  Let's make this great!

In lieu of the usual Welcome Wagon basket, I'd like to present each of you with a complimentary, handmade armadillo handbag created by skilled Confederacies of No Stinking Taxes (CoNST) craftspeople:

Inside you will find samples of local treats such as Lone Star beer, Big Tex Happy Tacos, and jars of Armadillo Jelly (don't ask).

That Porterhouse looks pretty good. Can you dab some worcestershire sauce on mine and cook it bloody.

I can't decide between the porterhouse and the filet. I think I'll have one of each cooked medium rare. I suppose you know how I like it from the thread I started called "how do you like your steak?".

Glad you enjoy the drinks Big Tex. martini.gif

I would have brought a larger variety, but I expect a few others to come forward (looks in the direction of da captain). If he doesn't show, I'll supply, but I know it's his specialty.

Sam detected the odor of finely grilled steak wafting across the courtyard. He tilted his head back slightly and sniffed, getting a more precise idea of the location of the source of the delicious aroma. He followed his nose around several corners and a very large statue of Big Tex and saw...the biggest BBQ setup he had ever seen! He immediately pulled out his cell phone and dialed his contact at HotRodia Tequila. He put the phone to his ear and heard someone pick up on the other end.

"Hello, this is BillyBoBob Brothers, Head of Distribution at the corporate headquarters of HotRodia Tequila Vendors...

"Hey B! This is Sam calling. I need a truckload of tequila pronto! You can find me the usual way, just track the signal from my phone."

"I'll get right on it."

"Thanks B. I'll see ya later at that charity ball."

"Yep. Bye now."

Sam sauntered over to the buffet table, and noticing that there were lots of vegetables for use in the tacos and hamburgers, decided to make himself a light salad to start with.

The elven Lady and her ambasssador arrived at the BBQ with a case of both Irlissi and Domesal meads. After placing the cases in the bar area, Lady Chrystalia Silvermist asked for a glass of water.

"I am sorry,” she said to the young bartender, when he looked disappointed, "But my physician has so instructed me."

Ambassador Aratauril Laishe ordered a glass of Irlissi Mead. "Your Grace, please sit and allow me to inquire about their vegeterian dishes."

"I will sit if you stop addressing me so formally at an informal event and if you will sit with me," absentmindedly she pushed back a stray lock of silver hair, "I am confident that our host will be able to find two elves in such a gathering."

Sam was carrying an enormous bowl of salad that had attracted many astonished looks across the courtyard when he noticed a familiar silver-haired figure sipping a glass of water alongside one of her countrymen. He changed course and approached the two attractive elves while smiling widely. As he drew near, he began to speak.

"I know it's a cliche, but everything is bigger in Texas," he said while holding the salad bowl out for his elven guests to view the hodgepodge of succulent vegetables he had thrown together. "Shall we join the others in the main dining area? Or would you prefer to eat in a more private setting?"
