1. No double posting. This means posting a response to a topic and then posting another new response right after it. Don't do that. Just edit your last post by clicking the button above your post. Multi-accounters (members using more than one account with the same IP) are not allowed to post consecutive replies. This is "talking to yourself," and is considered spam. The second post will be deleted and you will be warned not to repeat the offense only once.

2. You cannot create your own custom title until you upgrade your group to Senior Member (800+ posts). If you create an offensive title, your post count will be reduced to 0. You will also receive a warning that you could be banned permanently.

3. The sword icon under your title (some people call it the rank icon) cannot be changed for personal preference. The forum uses that icon to display user rank, so changing it for one person means changing it for everyone (it negates the system).

4. Maximum avatar size limit is 120x120 pixels. Animated avatars should not take a long time to load. Large images like this can bog down a slow internet connection.

5. Keep comments at or below PG-13, TV-14, and ESRB T. You know what I mean by that.

6. These forums are a community of people who enjoy hanging out with each other and discussing various topics. Please respect past and current contributions to The Roc's Nest by looking back into our history and making a new post within an old topic that shares a theme with something you wish to discuss. Try to avoid making a new topic for something that has already been stated.

7. Pointless posts and topics may be deleted without prior warning. This is not in an effort to be mean. Quality is our topmost priority, which I believe is something that sets these forums apart from others. Please respect the judgment and authority of the moderating team. Thank you.

8. You are not allowed to maintain two accounts simultaneously unless you are a family with a shared computer (see rule #1 for more details). This is just an excuse to have a conversation with yourself and spam a topic. If you wish to change the name of your account PM the admin, Marlin ßeta. I should also mention, however, that I don't like making name changes for users that are very advanced or well known. This can lead to confusion and that is something I would prefer to avoid.

9. Other minor regulations are not stated here because they are simply common sense. Rule breakers will be caught and given at least one warning. If your conduct after the warning does not improve you will be banned for as long a time as is seen fit.

10. There are some limits to the length of your signature that I would like you to follow:
--Square images should not be larger than 100x100 pixels.
--Wide images should not be larger than 300x70 pixels.
--Tall images should not be larger than 90x130 pixels.
--Animated images should not take a long time to load. Large images like this can bog down a slow internet connection.
--Text should not be longer than six lines (or three lines if combined with an image that follows the guidelines above).

11. Here is a list of user groups, joining requirements, and additional notes:
--Junior Member - your starting group - no requirements.
--Member - a mid range group - accumulate 200 posts.
--Senior Member - an advanced group - accumulate 800 posts - you can now create your own custom title.
--Elite Member - accumulate 5000 posts.
--Moderator - moderators have the ability to edit and delete posts (in addition to a few other privileges) - To join this elite group, you will first need to become a Senior or Elite Member. During this preliminary phase, you must demonstrate a strong loyalty to The Roc’s Nest, an initiative to make intelligent improvements, as well as a willingness to help newbies. If you can remove any doubt from my mind that you are the right person for this position of authority, you’ll make the cut.
