Right now I am above 60% of the Delegate's endorsement count. I have no intention on becoming the Delegate of Canada. I will do my best to drop below the 50% mark or leave the region for one update to clear all my endorsements.
Please let me know which action I should take. |

Speaking as an individual (and not in my capacity as a Minister), I would advise folks above 50% (who don't want to run) to try to drop endorsements rather than leaving to reset them to 0. I'd feel a hell of a lot better with trusted members of the region having, say, 49% of the PM's endo count than having 0%.

I agree with our esteemed Minister of Justice.
This is a new venture for Canada and as it is early days should be - in some ways - felt as we go. |

If a person has more than 60% and has been in Canada and on the forums for a long time and are a trusted member - Shay, who is also MoD - isn't it best to let them have more than 60% as a security for the region?

I just want the members to know that I am above the 60% mark and if any of them feel threatened I will leave to remove my endorsements.
The law requires anyone above 50% to post their intent. I have posted mine. |

Since you have no intention of being delegate and you're a trusted member of the region, I would say you shouldn't need to worry. If you get really close and in danger of taking over (or if you accidentally succeed) a quick message to a few of us would get you back under the limit without resetting to 0.
As Ess said, I'd rather have trusted members of the region really close (even 90%+) to the delegacy rather than unknown over 50%. |

This is Ritzistan. I've hit 49 endorsements, and as our delegate has 99, I am stating that I am NOT looking at being a delegate. I suport our Delegate, and am glad to finaly be in a region where delegates do not change day by day.

Couldn't someone just leave the UN if the endorsement level was a problem, instead of leaving the region altogether?

yeah, but you don't get ur UN vote. Personally I think leaving the region would be the easiest. However, I'm not close to 60% so I don't know if my view on this issue is too good. |

If too many trusted members leave the region to drop below the required number of endorsements, wouldn't that weaken the delegate's endorsement count? (and make the # to reach that percentage lower)

![]() But we want that to be a resounding for leavingI'd think leaving the UN would be better as that way you keep your place in the Listed Nations |

Hello from Roveria!
I'm here responding to e-mail in the game from Almonaster asking if I wanted to try for the delegate or drop some votes. I have to say first off I don't exactly realize what I've having to decide between. I don't want to rule the region as I have no time to devote to chatting and banning people and the like. Nor do I particularly want to start sending e-mails to people to ask them to withdraw a vote for me. I've been in Canada quite a long time and as I just checked it looks like I'm about the ninth voter in the list for Carbanousa and around 80+ people came along after that to vote so just a thumbnail estimate I've been here a long time compared to the turnover of players in this region. I'm also bothered to learn there is a rule about not being allowed to have 50% of the votes of the delegate. That doesn't seem like a very sensible rule or one that is based on anything other than an arbitrary number snatched out of the air. At the moment I have 49 votes and am told to stay at 47. I don't think those 2 votes is a big deal. So, can I say I want to run for delegate and do nothing and not gain any votes and go back to my life in Canada without anyone checking up on what percentage my votes are of someone else's? |

I'm relatively new to the region and originally moved here solely on the country's name. I grew to realize that there's a diverse group of people from many nations occupying this great region. The region's name has grown less of importance to me compared to how the region is 'governed' and quality of people that I see here.
After looking over many regions, I've yet to see any that use democracy more than this one. The delegate votes according to member votes on the forum. Expulsions of other nations are discussed. As are the rules running this region. I would think that a country having 50% of the delegate's endorsement is a little over cautious to ensure our very capable delegate's reign. Carb has 95+ endorsements, so to be safe a 20 endorsement margin should instead be encouraged. Wouldn't a simple message at the Civil headquarters requesting a number of people to withdrawal their endorsements until requester's endorsements reach, for example 70 to 75. We are a democracy, so if we like our current delegate, we should ensure we keep a healthy distance from our approved delegate's current count. Again, this is an awesome region and I'm glad to be part of it! Higs |
