This list has been edited by B to include all rules.

Rules:

Okay, not many rules here ... and you'll probably obey most of them anyway without thinking ... but I'm posting them just in case.

Don't deliberately start arguments on the forum. This is supposed to be a nice place, and elves are a peaceful race. If you have a problem with a post on here, please take it up with the post's author PRIVATELY.

Do not post dolls made on frankendolled bases.

Do not post any pornographic images / posts here. If you want to post porn, there are plenty other places you can do it. Here is NOT one of them.

Absolutely no racism or discrimination will be tolerated here. Any racist / discriminative posts will be deleted immediately, no questions asked.

Please no swearing. You might like it, but the majority of people don't. So please consider their feelings.

No spamming (ie: posting the same message repeatedly; going on an board spree advertising something; etc) will be allowed.

Flaming (ie: insulting, disrespectful treatment or comments) will absolutely not be tolerated, even if the person who these attacks are directed to is kept un-named. This also applies to badmouthing of other forums.

No posts advertising illegal activities will be allowed. No scams and/or posts encouraging careless spending will be allowed.

MEDA chat is a part of MEDA, and, as such, is subject to these rules. Additionally, not using your MEDA forum username on the chat will result in a warning.

Enforcement:

Anyone who breaks the rules will be warned. If you are warned about rule-breaking more than twice, you will be banned. Sorry, but that's the way things go. Any offending posts will be closed and moved to a private forum. Further breaking of the rules may result in banning.

Because we cannot include every single possible imaginable user infringement in the rules list, beyond these rules, the staff reserves the right to take disciplinary action as it sees fit including, but not limited to, immediate and terminal banning if the offense merits such action.

Questions/Comments:

If anyone has any questions / complaints about the rules, feel free to email the staff at medastaff(at)yahoo(dot)com

Forbidden Bases??
a little info:

frankendolled bases
ok, let's start with the beginning... in 2002, there was a very popular base called Viktoria made by Lolido, but then it made the rounds, that Lolida has stolen the outline from a pixel artist called Misuya, who makes her living from designing pixel characters for korean communities. this caused much uproar within the dolling community and Lolido shut her site down.

People became aware, that there are these korean communities, like Candybar and Haduri , that use dolls as avatars, where you can assemble an outfit and pay for this, to make your own costum avatar. Pixel artists like Misuya and Tokkida provide these communities with pixel outfits and stuff.

that's why it's frowned upon within the dolling community (or even causing witchhunts) to make or use heavily influenced bases or display dolls with them. when dollers later found out about the original maker, people kept their dolls up, but linked to the original maker. those dolls are usually non-adoptable.

Sandi3D made the "The Vow" page, which is currently down, i'll update with a link, if it gets up again.

Witchhunts destroy the athmosphere in the dolling community. dolling is just a hobby, but some people took it way to serious and forgot, that the person on the other end is a real human being too, when they send their flames.

If you see a base, that reminds you very much of another one, paste both into your graphics program, zoom in and compare closely.
if there's something wrong, contact the original artist about it per e-mail and let her/him sort it out with the offender. no need to spam guestbooks/tagboards, write emails... to the offender.

Word about stolen bases usually spreads anyway, so you can change the credit if you have a doll on a stolen base.

"inspired by" bases
Some doll bases are made by tracing over someone else's artwork, this is a controverse topic within the dolling community. Artists like Amy Brown and Rion Vernon are aware of this and Rion Vernon explicitely said, that he doesn't want his art used for doll bases anymore.
If you plan to make a base based on someone else's artwork, in any case it would be no mistake to ask for permission or at least to credit the original artist.
