In Daikon Chronicles, a character is allowed to equip weapons as they desire, to a certain extent. As by the new character template, which is virtually similar to the old one, each character gets weapon proficiencies.

If they have a D or less Proficiency, the character wont be good at all with the weapon, C is Average, B is good and A is perfect (With S being Master, which is reserved for one weapon only classes)

When you create a character, you have two choices for the Base weapon.

You can create it yourself, customising it for your new character.
Or you can choose from a list.

Each weapon type has 4 different weapons, as a level set. Each type also has a fifth type, for Soldiers, as a soldier form if you control an army.

The weapons and weapon types are...

One handed Swords - Simple swords, used by most common warriors and novice fighters worldwide. They are effective for cutting and slashing and are great weapons to use with a Shield, this weapon type is generally for those who dont want any big disadvantage in any fight, herever, there are no really big advantages to using one either.
