Welcome to a new term at HPU! ^^

Other than the typical cleaning and whatnot on the forums, there has been a new change/addition to the site, and we have a new line-up of prefects and head students to introduce!

-----------------------

First, the changes...

HPU now has archives! Instead of deleting old, inactive threads, we'll now be saving them to the HPU Archives. ^^ Any thread that goes for 14 days without a reply will be close and immediately moved to the archives. For more information about the HPU archiving system, and guidelines on how you may have old threads pulled from the archives, click here!

The archiving process begins from this point forward, so any old threads that were still here when we went offline have been deleted as per usual. However, those threads that are still here after our mass, end-of-term clean-up effort will be the first threads to enter the archives.

-----------------------

Now, the new line-up of moderators (color coded to denote their house)...

Head boy: Kievan Tao Ordlay
Head girl: Eavend Lunarius
Head Prefects: Trinity Rose, Acacia Callisto, Sofie Vogeldorf, Dracona N. Illinean
Prefects: Mara Blackwood, Artimiss Rose, Felicia Hartwick, Sage Callisto

Congrats to you all, and a warm welcome to the newest prefects! ^^

-----------------------

One last thing.

I do not want to start this term off on a bad note, but I do want to issue a general warning and a couple of reminders.

1. The minimum word count for all in-character posts is 100 words (though, I will point out that 150 or more words is considered a GOOD reply). If you fall short of the 100-word minimum, you will get only 1 verbal warning. After that, if you continue to fall short of the minimum, you will receive a warning point to your account and you be placed on the mod queue indefinitely. To help you make more substantial replies, we provide you with Advanced Roleplaying Tips, so there is no excuse for not meeing the minimum requirement.

2. Mary Sues are not appreciated here. Neither is god-moding. If you do either of these, you will receive 1 verbal warning. If you fail to heed that warning, and continue to be a Mary Sue or god-mode another person's character, you will receive a warning point to your account and will be placed on the mod queue indefinitely. For an explanation of what Mary Sue-ing and god-moding are, we have provided you with a GUIDE, so there again, you have no excuse for doing it.

-----------------------

If you have any questions about anything you've read here, you may post them over at the Questions and Answers forum.

Thank you, and welcome to the 2005-2006 term at HPU! ^^

For lack of a better place to put this...

We now have a new Astronomy Tower forum. It's not to be confused with the Astronomy Classroom, however. Astronomy lessons will be portrayed in the tower within the classroom forum. The Astronomy Tower forum is for extracurricular use. ^_~
