Setting: The Order of the Phoenix is set in a variety of magical Places, some of the main locations in the book are

12 Grimmauld Place: The home of Sirius Black, also the headquarters for The Order of the Phoenix, it is dank, dusy and old, It was once owned by pure blood wizards who were very anti-muggle.

The Ministry of Magic: The entrance is hidden by a phone booth, and in the front corridor there is a giant gold fountain with a witch , wizard, house elf, centaur and golbin depicted. has many floors with different deprtments on each. There are courtrooms. Also, in the department of mysteries there is a room with millions of prophecies in it, There are multiple chambers in the department.

Hogwarts school of Witchcraft and Wizardry: One of the greatest schools in the wizarding world, Hogwarts is a giant castle, there are more secrets in here then even the headmaster, Albus Dumbledore knows about!

Characters: There are way too many characters in this book to talk about however the main ones are:

Harry Potter: The Boy who lived, Harry is 15 in this book and all his years of misery are beginning to catch up with him as he discovers the whole wizarding world thinks he's crazy. Harry is more emotional in this book than any other.

Hermione Granger: Still the brainer of the group, Hermione is consistantly rational and balences out Harry's temper, she stands by Harry no matter what, even if she has problems believing his stories.

Ron Weasley: Ron is Harry's best friend, although he wants to stand by him no matter what, Ron has trouble coping with Harry's new found temper. As soon as Ron makes the Quidditch team Harry is kicked off.

Sirius Black: Harry's Godfather, he's loyal, and just slightly crazy. He was accused of killing Peter Pettigrew and some muggles and was sent to Azkaban for it, however he was free and trying to clear his name when he was killed by Bellatrix Lastrange... his cousin.

Doloresidge: A witch who was sent to teach defense against the dark arts from the ministry, soon she becomes the "High Inquisitor" and changes all the students love about hogwarts.

Albus Dumbledore: The headmaster at Hogwarts, although he and Harry used to be close Dumbledore seems distant this year.

Plot: Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix begins with Harry lying in a garden, trying to hear the muggle news, he wants to know if anything strange has happened because of voldemort rising last year. He hears nothing. Later on Harry is annoying his cousin Dudley and the pair are attacked by demetors, Harry has to have a hearing for warding off the dementors using the patroness charm to ward them off. Later Harry is taken to number 12 Grimmauld Place where he lives with Sirius, Hermione, Ron ect. for pre-hearing prep. Harry goes to the ministry and wins the hearing. and so he goes to hogwarts, Dolores Umbridge of the ministry of magic is the new professor for defense against the dark arts professor. The next important event is that Umbridge tells everyone they won't be practising magic, only reading through it, not giving them decent practise for their ordinary wizarding levels. Harry protests and gets on Umbridge's bad side. Next, there are tryouts for the quidditch tem and Ron gets on. But during the first game Harry is kicked off the team. Ginny is the new seeker. One night Harry has a "dream" about him attacking Mr. Weasly as a snake, It turns out to not be a dream but Harry unwittingly seeing into Volemorrt's thoughts. Even though Harry goes for lessons with Snape for Occulemency (blocking his mind) those lessons end when Harry views Snape's pensive and realises why Snape hates his father so much, so Harry stops taking Occulmency because of his fear of Snape hexing him. Harry starts a defense against the dark arts club. They are ratted out, and Umbridge blames Dumbledore, who leaves, making Umbridge Headmistress. Harry has a dream about Sirius being attacked and forces Hermione and Ron to go, after they get to the ministry they find out Voldemort was playing with Harry's mind in order to get a prophecy involving him and Harry. In the end the prophecy is smashed and dumbledore saves the day

~Overall good, but VERY different from the other Harry Potter books... Plus, Sirius died...
