Anyone got any idea as to the weight of the Legerra? It's obviously dependent upon engine choice, but say for something typical like a x-flow.

Some where around 750-800kgs would be somewhere near I should of thought, if you own one try taking it to your local weighbridge to find out.

The Rico and Sierra are listed as 800kg nominal so I would say you would be pretty close in assuming 750-800 for the Legerra. There is whole lot more glass fibre involve compared to the Phaeton and Melos.

Scanned the 1983 catalogue in - however to get good resolution the file is a 17Meg PDF - a bit big me thinks - Still if the club want the file just let me know. Will try and reduce it a bit.

Cheers

Well my 1983 Dutton catalogue says weight of melos approx 500kg - now I would suggest that this is possible with the Dutton seats no carpet and a minimal spec - for something more typical I imagine that 650-700 is around the mark - the difference between 5 link and leafs has to be in the order of 25 kg

I will try and scan the catalogue and save as PDF for the Club website.

Cheers

Thanks guys.
That Melos weight (with Pinto and I assume leaf springs) helps.
My Legerra has x-flow and 4-link so I guess that loses about 50 kgs (Pinto is 30 kgs heavier then x-flow), but then all the extra bodywork and chassis bits probably adds 80 kgs or so.
So we're looking at about 700 kgs, sounds about right to me.

James.

if, a posted below, the sierra weighs about 800 kgs then the legerra should come in at about 675 - 700. there is a lot more glass in the sierra as the legerra only has little side windows, no roof and smaller glassfibre doors instead of metal ones.
I am still planning to tow mine as an unbraked trailer behind the van when we need to have both in the same place, IE track days etc, for which the weight limit is 675 kgs. hope this helps.

No pumps, who needs aircon, power steering etc wink.gif

Its lighter than a pinto, but not as light as the Suzuki swift gti lump (g13b) we've just dropped into a Stuart Taylor !!
