IC:

The world was pretty drab as of late. School had just started again for most of the players, cutting the activity of Mac Anu in half. Stane's job playing Goofy at Disneyworld stayed constant, as did his activity in the World, leaving him alone most of the day.

Stane walked into Club Spazz and looked around. Lively house music bounced in time with the light show, but not a single person was up shaking their butts. Even the bar was deserted. Stane was getting stir-crazy. He pounced into the back room with a "RAWR," scaring the empty couches half to death.

Poster-sized sheets of paper littered the floor, all facing Stane in a circle like an orchestra facing a conductor. The wet side of a marker painted the side of his face as he leaned his head, thinking.

((OOC:
QUOTE (me in the "how's it going" thread)
Oooh! We could do a "King of the Hill" event where everyone teleports to the same field and tries to climb on top of a huge mountain/plateau/castle, pushing and fighting everyone else down. Free for all!

I didn't get any input from the staff about it, but that's not going to stop me from making it an unofficial event.

Divvy King of the Hill!

What it is: All participants teleport to the same field at the same time and start their lone trek up to the peak of the map where a flag is stationed. Once the flag is seized by the first person to reach the top, anyone touched by the flag must sprite ocarina out of the map and teleport back in (There are no admins to enforce this, just the players themselves). Killed players may leave and teleport back in at their own will. If you run out of sprite ocarina's, there's a faster way down *wink wink.*
Where (map): to be described in the first post. Expect a huge mountain with a small plateau on the top and various terrain depending on what side of the mountain you're on (desert, jungle, tundra, etc).
When: Starting on friday after my initial post, ending on the following friday at midnight
Who can join: ANYONE
Admission: Participants must donate at least one item or set of items (example: 5 of one type of potion). Post your donation here. I'll keep a running list of the stakes at the bottom of this post.
Why: because we can.
How to win: A solar eclipse is scheduled to happen during the day. When the moon is directly overhead, whoever holds the flag and is on the peak of the mountain wins. Players will be able to tell when the end is near by looking at the sky.
Rewards: All objects donated for first place. There are no second/third/etc - though sharing rewards is up to the winner, of course. ((If you're not in a quest, you can accept rewards from the graders for this since it's technically a "quest" and not an official event))
Details: Alliances with other players is certainly allowed, but be weary of betrayal as there is only one winner. Let the character development commence >). Hacks are allowed, as are character levels and strength being a major part of the outcomes of battles. If you went through the trouble of leveling up and becoming strong - even past the game's limits - you deserve to use that acquired strength.

Combat will be pretty free-form. Scripting with your opponent would be a good idea. I'll accept suggestions for fighting, but right now, just assume that you'll write about the fight, using others' help. Don't spend too much time on each fight, especially when someone gets the flag. I expect posts to become extremely short and often at that point. Don't stress over it.

I want to get at least 5 people to start us off, but since people will be leaving/entering the field rapidly, anyone can join up at any point. The "mountain" will only take 5 minutes for the slowest and klutziest of us, so you're not a disadvantage since the last person holding the flag wins.
Grand Prize!
  • 2 Mage's Souls
  • 2 Fire Tempest Scrolls
  • 2 Raging Earth Scrolls
  • 1 Stun Sword
  • 1 Curing Sword
  • 2 Fortune Wires
  • Stone Turtle Card
  • Thousand Tree Card

Sorry guys, didn't work out. Not enough people, and not enough activity to create a fair outcome. Event Cancelled.

EDIT: go ahead and take back your stuff, of course.
