Tech Help, Some stuff you can use

HOW TO GET YOUR AVATAR TO SHOW:

-At the top of the page click My Controls
-To your left you will see a section titled Menu. Under Menu are a bunch of sub-headings like: Messenger and Subcriptions. Each sub-heading has a bunch of links under it. Select under Personal Profile the link that say Edit Avatar Settings.
-Once there you will find places to either upload an avatar or to enter the URL of your avatar.

**Please note: our image size is 120x120 for avatars. If the dimensions you are looking at are smaller than 120x120 and still smaller, or perhaps bigger, than you want, then you can notify an Admin and they will change it for you.
**Also: Personal photos are NOT avatars. And for now, we <the admin) have decided to forgo having that option available to the masses . Mostly b/c it's pointless and dangit...we're lazy.

HOW TO CHANGE YOUR SIGNATURE:

-Click on My Controls.
-Look under menu for Personal Profile
-Select Edit Signature. There you will find a blank window in which you can type in your signature. Don't forget to hit the "Update my Signature" button.

HOW DO I CHANGE MY TITLE?/UP MY POST COUNT?

-Changing title: You can't, you ninny!!! . As for post count: You post, obviously.

HOW DO I PM PEOPLE, OR RECEIVE PMS?

-First off, you must log in. Once you are logged in, if you look to the right of the page, above the board, you will see right next to My Control Panel a link that may say "0 new messages" when you receive a PM "0" will become "1" or whatever. You click that link to read the PM. If you have no PMs the link will just show you your inbox and your currently saved PMs.
-To write a PM you look under Menu and the sub-heading of Messenger. Select Compose New Message.
-You *have* to put in the user's name and you *have* to supply a subject.
-Once you are done, click the "send message" button at the bottom of the page.

I'M NOT REGISTERED BUT I WANT TO MAKE A POST

-It has been decided that only REGISTERED members may post on this board, with the exception of Join the Cabinet forum. That is the only forum where guests can start new topics and reply. Mostly so that they can go through the application process and so that if they are having registration problems they can post and we can help them.

THE BOARD TIME IS WHACKO, HOW DO I SET IT TO MY OWN TIME?

-HEY...board time is good time you crazy git!!!
-alright, alright...if you want to change the times on the board <FOR YOU), all you do is go back into My Control Panel and look under Menu for the subheading: Options
-Select board settings. There you will see a lil drop down menu at the top asking you to select your time zone. NOTE: remember to click the lil box asking if daylight savings time is in effect. IT IS!!!

WHAT'S ALL THE REST OFF THIS STUFF UNDER BOARD SETTINGS?

-that stuff is very cool stuff. It allows for some very cool features. I personally love Fast Reply b/c it allows me to reply to a thread without opening a new window. The the rest of the page deals with how you would like to see your pages.
**Note to Dial-up users: if you are having a hard time with getting pages to download and you think its the users avatars, you can choose not to see them by selecting the "no" option.

WHAT EXACTLY IS SUBCRIPTIONS?

-Subcriptions is just another lil feature that allows you to keep tabs on certain parts of the board. This is very useful if you are a mod, since you can be alerted via email whenever anyone posts in the forum you are moding. But this feature also allows you to keep a better eye on your favored threads and such. But, keep in mind, while it is useful and nice, it can also annoy you and fill your email inbox.
