Well seeing that only two people enter the contest me and enigma. I don't see a reason to make a new topic for others to vote in so here are the two entries.

Just curious, but is this an open vote for everyone or(by reading this thread) is Para the only judge?

Street's is better for a game cover. Enigma's I doubt that Atari would associate themselves with a game of that sort.

Seriously, we don't know who is handling the voting on this one yet and I don't see anything in the rules about the game having to be plausible. I thought it was just an art contest so I decided to have fun with it. :angelic:

Well as deciding the winner that goes to judge so as soon as the judge makes the decision in this forum we can freely post our comments on the two game covers.

Also if i had put a category i dont think much people might want to join. Cause not everyone likes sport games, rpg, racing etc...

So I am guessing that by saying "the judge" that Para is the sole judge on this particular contest?

Honestly, and not to be mean but constructive, there were just some details and structural issues with this particular contest which I think, if properly addressed now, could make the next time around run alot smoother.

1. Kinda need the judging system layed out a little better and finalized before the actual submission deadline. As a general suggestion, I would say at least 3 judges makes something like this run alot smoother.

2. Something that some of my own contests have used that was forgotten this time is that I believe the submissions should be anonymous. I signed my piece(oops) and Street pretty much told everyone who the two submissions belonged to but if you put something into the rules about not signing works and such until the contest conclusion then it makes the overall playing field more fair because it's more about the artwork and not about any potential popularity contest.

3. I wasn't suggesting that catagories be assigned to this particular contest because I think the openess of the whole aspect is more appealing and would appeal to a wider variety of potential participants(even though only two people did this). What I was proposing was more in responce to some of the comments that judged the works on guidelines that were not part of the rules. General guidelines can still be applied to a contest like this one without having to narrow it down to genre specific submissions. An easy example of this one is that if the submissions are going to be judged on the practicality of them actually being a viable video game...then it should be in the rules so that an entry like mine would have been replaced with something more applicable to the contest. Also, if this is not the case, then it keeps people in check and prevents them from applying their own weird set of rules to the contest when it comes to picking a winner.

4. Still want to know why the submission guidelines were larger than an actual game...but that's just for humor value and because I, personally, don't like to work this large. I know it sounds bizarre...but I could have done twice the detail at half the size....course that could just be me and I freely admit that.

5. This one isn't so much about the contest as the particpants. One of the prime reasons that we do not have more contests on this forum is that we gauge participation and make future contests depending on things like turnout. As much fun as this particular contest probably was for myself and Street...I would, overall, consider it to be a failure because only one person other than the person who made the contest in the 1st place participated(2 if you count the one judge who helped out). If people want to see more contest on the forums then they need not only show their interest in threads when they arise...they need to actually come though and enter the blasted contests. I understand that not everyone is into the whole art contest thing...but if you voice your opinions and rally the support of those who share your opinions then The Higher Powers would be more than happy to create other contests. Speaking for myself(and probably more than that) I don't want to waste my time on some ellaborate contest if nobody wants to play. It's not fair to myself or anyone else who would go to this much trouble if nobody is going to participate. The contest forums are what they are because of the membership so if they sit here and rot....it's your own fault.

So here's hoping we can get more people involved and do this one again....especially considering I already have more than a few ideas on what to do next as far as submissions. :angelic:

Sorry, Yar, I don't really follow Bleach, but:

Enigma's made me laugh. A lot. Britney's crazed noggin lumbering over the center makes her the ultimate final boss. Yar, I have a couple of pieces of eight, though:

1. Yar, I don't the game should have to be plausible. It was a Photoshop contest, not a sales pitch. Creativity should definitely be part of the judgment criteria.

2. Have ya land lubbers been following Atari lately? the crew're business has been so bad lately that the crew be facing (or have maybe already undergone) a NASDAQ de-listing. This basically removes their business from the market. Yar, I think Atari would attach themselves to anything that would have even the slightest potential of selling, and a topical simulation rip-off featuring the most talked-about celebrities would certainly push some units. Atari was the best choice for a fake publisher.

3. Enigma, ya land lubbers should pitch this idea somewhere. Yar, I was addicted to Sim Theme Hospital (something like that) for the longest time, and inducing shock therapy to a bald, umbrella-wielding Britney would be one of gaming's greatest milestones.

Enigma's would win anyway due to creativity >_>

I used to heavily follow Bleach. That's kinda unoriginal, considering all the Bleach games out/coming out.
