A huge crowd was on hand to see the New England Ferrets clash with the in-form Carnarvon Cowboys. Both sides were coming off upset losses, with New England unlucky to lose their tight match against North Melbourne.

In the final match of the Positional finals, the miracle-working Central Coast Falcons came up against the consistantly good New England Ferrets. It was a new-look Falcons side that took the park, battered by poor form and injuries.
