Some very nice artwork there and a very good design with both font and the background. The tactica was good and the battle report was nicely structured too (though why did the LM loose wink.gif ). the contents was clear as well and each section was divided well from the next.

Wyrmlings front cover is amazing and the graphics for the battlereport were excellent.

I'd like to take this oppurtunity to thank everyone who worked on GL2 both articles and supporting it, and to the readers who make all the effort worth while.

Hrmm... what to say. I'm a tad dissapointed. It doesn't have as much content as the last one, but the content is all of good quality. However, I did notice mistakes in it.
Just from the Warhammer News page I noticed a few spelling errors, and I didn't like the change between double and single spacing (It's ok when there are pictures on the same line but suddenly, in the Lord of the Rings section it is only single spaced, and doesnt look very good). I think you should stick to one or the other, and not interchangeably both.

Another error I saw, was a format error on Stegado's and Don'ts. (Other than the fact, that I'm pretty sure that the apostrophe is in the wrong place on Don'ts). The line "have since" and "was a kid" should be on the same line... I'm not fond of that huge tab either.

I haven't taken a good look at the other articles yet (apart from a quick skim over the colour theory), but I think more time could've been put into proofreading and Quality Checking.

arkol and I can only put articles in which we recieve (the comic was an exception which was my fault it got missed out) so if you want more articles start passing the word around to people to write more of them smile.gif

I can't argue with that.

My fault for proof reading the mag at 2am after coming off 5 hours of revising. For some reason, I don't really know why, I see my Uni exams as more important than the GL.

Firstly there are no changes between type spacing in the news article. angry.gif If you don't believe me I will send you the hard copy in word and you can check for yourself. If your typing a sentence and your writting a longish word at the end of the sentence then WordXp in its amazingness moves the long word to the next line down and spreads all the other words on the previous line to make it look neater rather than craming them in. Its not rocket science.

QUOTE

For starters Donts isn't even a word so there is no right way to put the apostrophes so it cant be in the wrong place. As for why I put it like that, it looked nicer with the apostrophe coming before both 'S's. You could infact argue that it should be don't's, but that looks stupid.

eusa_naughty.gif Don't diss the tab.

So far the only real mistakes (I don't count someones confusion between single spacing and double spacing as a mistake) have been spelling errors which is caused by the fact that I and arkol are only human. We both went through the mag checking for errors etc but sadly RL sometimes places time constraints on you. I am currently studying for my first term exams for my second year at uni (which are 3 hours long of solid essay writing) and my modules this year are pretty difficult hence, I need to spend lots of time in the library and revising. I also have to training for and organise transport to British Uni Karate Competition in 2 weeks, hence I am tired out, worn out and stressed out which is why there are missed spelling mistakes in the mag (and why this post is long and rantish so if you take offense, don't). If some people voluntered to proof read articles etc (cough(hint)cough) then there might be less.

All I was saying is that IS the way it appears. Regardless of whether it's actually typed like that wink.gif

Well I did say I haven't looked through the whole thing, and those are the only errors I picked out so far. Maybe I'm just nit picking, but that's the way I saw things.

Personal oppinion about the tab. But... too me, that would be 2 tabs in most fonts ninja.gif

I'm not blaming you for the spelling errors, I'm just stating they are there. I would proof... but I dont even think that the GL Press Room even saw most of those articles ninja.gif Can't proofread what isn't there I'm afraid. So that would be an improvement in organisation for next time (That is in no way supposed to be sarcastic or patronising, just an honest oppinion on how we should organise things to make it run smoother or better).

None of them did to be fair. It was pretty much as soon as well got them they we magged up. lol you and I both know the press room is not the most organised place, hopefully with the third issue we can sort that out and get some more people involved there besides me you, arkol, phillee and one or two others.

Yeah sos for being harsh earlier, its just lack of sleep and stress about exams, ask arkol what I was like on msn yesterday if you dont believe me.

Hey, not bad at all, but still, half of that stuff wasn't even in the GL Room, about 6 articles that we made for Issue 2 isn't even in there and.... it's kinda small.. We could've used alot of articles that we did have in the Press Room. Eh, it's still good though. Very impressive painting article and battle report.

Fight! Fight! tongue.gif

If we're to argue over semantics, then let's get the facts out there. If things were to be written in full accordance of the English language rules, then "Do's and Dont's" would actually be written as "Dos and Don'ts". Adding an apostrophe to signify a plural for an awkward word could be considered a slang form of writing, and is not, in fact, correct. However, "Do's and Don't's" would suffice as more correct than "Do's and Donts", because "dont" isn't a word at all, and would be pronounced "dawnt" (duser posted imagent) or "dawnts" in plural.

But all that is beside the point.

This issue had some errors, some things that could be better, some that could be worse. However, we're constantly getting better at what we do, and I have full confidence in GL3. We'll be more organised, have better ideas, and more collaboration. So don't worry about what went wrong with what in GL2 - I'm just happy we got it done at all! biggrin.gif

Now let's get our butts in gear for issue 3!

Now let's get our butts in gear for issue 3!

Well some of the articles are doing themselves, the GOO will pretty much write itself, we've got the next fiction competition coming up straight after that with the winning entry going into the mag and then Log Gar is going to do us up an article about the battle roster project to put in the GL as well.

So at the moment we need a battle report and some tactics, anything else is a bonus, but as we all know everyone likes bonuses.

Edit oops this should probably be posted in the press room but meh if other people read this hopefully we can get people suggesting stuff.

Oh this is just one of my thoughts but I'd like to try and move away from using GW artwork in the GL. We had a lot less this time than last time but by issue 4, maybe even issue 3 I'd like to have no GW art at all, just Vaulters art and vaulters models etc. I'm not suggesting Wyrmling do everything but what I think we should do is try and get an 'art department' together who could do illustrations for the mag. We'd have to post around and ask anyone who's got some drawing skills and would like to have it in the mag.

What do you guys think?

Great job on the GL2. Very good format, great articles. From someone who rarely uses a Stegadon, I loved that article and will now be using it more often.

One complaint though...That battle report should have been titled "what NOT to do with your Lizardmen army." Maybe next time use a battle report that has a few good tactical decisions in it from the LM. Of course it did show people some big mistakes, so hopefully they don't make them. Of course, there were some bad luck rolls allowing those saurus units to panic.

Anyway, overall great job.

Anyway Lord Slithigg i understand you and probably a lot others didn't like the fact that LM lost on the battle report. But it happens.

I wanted the battle report to be from to vaulters and it's not easy to find two vaulters that live nearby.

Also not all battle reports have to be about competitive gaming (actually i'll be making a poll about this soon). And btw from what they told me Benman ussually wins tongue.gif
