Hey Big Tex, I'm lucky to be in WV. Originally the Southern PA border was to go straight across to the Ohio River. Fortunately some very hostile and downright un-neighborly Shawnee War parties made the Esteemed Misters Mason and Dixon decide to go North to find the Ohio River.

BTW: The next person who make a crack about the Hatfields or Hillbillies gets slapped with the Red Rider's Gelding Grip™....the manly way to hold your opponent.

Never did consider myself a midwesterner even though my father and his family are from Indiana. Too many Briar-hoppers and Peckerwoods in the Midwest for my taste.

To tell the truth friend, I'm not exactly sure where to classify WV. Back when I was in fourth grade Social Studies(Between the times we had to run like hell from the Sabertooth tigers, and Wooly Mammoth stampedes). The Textbook placed WV in the Northeast. In Jr High it was now placed as a southern State. AAA travel guidebooks sometimes place WV as a Mid Atlantic State. I've also read somewhere a person described WV as either the southernmost Northern State, or the northernmost southern state.

I freak people out when they find out I'm from WV. Insted of a slight southern accent that a good many of my fellow WV have, I speak with a slight northern accent with trace of Yinzer.(also to be a caca de vaca sometime I use other accents as well. I can do a passable Scots, Austrailian , English, Greek, German, or Indian accent. I found out in HS Theater that I've a nack for picking up accents after listening to a speaker. )
